Easy to Print PLA with a Nice Color
I mostly print in PETG for durability, but needed some PLA for detail work. Once I dialed in the settings for my printer (215 nozzle, 75 bed, 0.2 layer height, 50 mm/s speed), it printed well and didn't give me any issues that weren't specifically printer related. I printed the Iron Man bust in the attached pics (about 9 cm tall) as a final test before using this filament. The silver one had a light wet sand and a few layers of paint to remove most of the layer lines, and I am very happy with the results. There are a couple of stubborn layer lines, but I chalk that up to loose belts. I will definitely be going with this brand in the future.

Great filament, easy to print, easy to sand.
I used this filament for the horns of a Jackalope. It looks like sandstone. This is NOT actual wood like some are so is not abrasive to the nozzle. But I would say it’s not tough but is very easily post worked. Very good filament but I wouldn’t use it for anything requiring strength.

Bright, vivid color across clean layers!
This green in very bright. It is close to RAL 6018, which is close to PANTONE 363, but direct light will lighten the perceived shade in that area. The depth and contrast are among the better filaments I've printed. The surfaces are incredibly smooth. Layer lines are very well blended, especially on smaller objects like the supports for my desk glass. The listed features include “no bubbles” and this filament very much lived up to that claim. Other silk PLAs I’ve printed have sometimes exaggerated printer defects such as ringing at high speed, but this filament hid that very well on a CR-10 whose only upgrade is a dual-gear extruder. So it looks great, even on an average printer, but this filament also makes printing easier. Printing direct to glass worked better than expected. To print on glass you’ll need a much more level bed than if you printed on tape. Silk PLA is especially great for printing a bed level test since the intense reflectivity of the filament will vary enough that you can easily identify issues. I was able to level my glass bed (switching over from tape)with this filament manually by eye. Printing on glass rewards you with a mirror-finish which is complimented by the silkiness of the sides and top. I was able to print the triangular mesh piece (over 250mm wide!) on glass in a workshop below 10c/50f without any curling! 10 brim lines helped, but that is still impressive for a print to hold that well on untreated glass!Regardless of manufacturer, silk PLA tends to string moving from various parts of the print, assuming your slicer software isn’t especially clever about wiping and retracting. This silk PLA isn’t immune to this, but it is comparatively easy to remove. The hand pinch-and-pull works most of the time, but there is always clipping off stray hairs too. Because the strings have substance to them, this makes them easier to remove, even if visually it doesn’t look as appealing. So many times I’ve only realized after taking pictures/videos that there are strings on my print, but because the strings are highly visible, you catch these issues before spending time on a photo-shoot, SERIOUSLY HELPFUL!Overall, I am very satisfied with this Reprapper Silk PLA and look forward to printing more spools of it for both personal and professional client use. This filament was given in exchange for an honest evaluation.

Prints well for a low-cost filament
First off, I received a discount code from the manufacturer to purchase this product after purchasing an initial roll.Pros:Inexpensive after discount. The color is a really nice deep orange. I wouldn't call it red, but it is a nice shade of orange.I haven't had any real serious issues with this filament. The sellers emailed information for how to use the filament. If you're new to 3D printing and haven't read anything online about temperatures and/or build plate adhesion, I guess it could be helpful. The sellers also send discount codes for future purchases of this filament (see cons below in regard to the number and content of other emails though).Layer and bed adhesion are fine. I did have some issues with warping. The filament tends to like to higher build plate temperature (i.e., 70°C) for the first layer to get things to stick nicely. Blue tape also helps.According to the manufacturer, the spool is partially made of straw and is perhaps for environmentally friendly.Cons:The company sends far too many emails trying to solicit positive seller feedback and reviews. One unsolicited email tried to explain why they decided to raise the prices of their filament from ~$15 to ~$20. Their reasoning was basically because other manufacturers charge that much. While it was nice that they also provided a discount code for future purchases, I'm not sure I will be purchasing more after I run out of this batch.I wouldn't necessarily put this filament on par with others in the $20 price range, but it performs okay for a sub-$15 filament. There are far better options out there in the $15-$20 range, in my opinion. Some reviewers have noted concerns about the appearance of the spool. I actually like that fact that it appears to be made of renewable materials. However, there are no cutouts in the side, which would allow you to see how much of the filament remains. Also, the spool is not completely rigid and some spools are wavy/bent. The center spindle "hole" is not completely round and seems to catch every 90° or so. I moved to a dispenser where the surface rolls on bearings, which somewhat alleviates this. However, the sides of the spools are also warped. One of the spools I purchases is warped more than the dispenser bearings are wide, causing it to catch on the side of the dispenser. No amount of adjusting seems to fix this.Overall, the price was fair (with discount, when I purchased it), but I probably won't purchase this brand again. Emails from seller were generally off-putting.

Decent till the last 3/4th of a roll
I purchased a few rolls of various colors and the first 3/4th of each roll was decent. There are portions scattered about the roll that are brittle when handled by hand but I have not had issues with breaking during a print. The main reason why this filament gets a 3/5 has to do with 3 of the 5 rolls having snagging issues within the spool. Upon looking closer it appears to be multiple winding errors as you get closer to the end of the spool rather than user error.Ultimately I had to unspool about 1/4th of the factory-spooled filament and hand-spool it to completely remove the issue.Other then spooling issues Great filament, prints well, and the color shown on the listing is very accurate.

Good stuff, but colour change is only every 20m.
Having used and been impressed with Reprapper blue silk, I decided to try the rainbow. I found that like all the other silks I had used, they stuck far to well to my glass bed. A word of advice from their rep. over Messenger suggested 50C bed temperature which did the trick. You can see the rainbow PLA in the photo. I didn't realise that the colour change was only 20m, so of course I didn't get the effect I was hoping for. I ended up creating what I was looking for by manually swapping colours. On that print, the pale blue is the Reprapper filament, the other colours are assorted manufacturers. I would certainly use Reprapper filament again, but for my smaller models I don't see any benefit to me buying the Rainbow filament again. A large vase etc and I imagine that it would be lovely.Printer is a Creality Ender 3 V2 with Micro Swiss and dual Z conversions.

Been doing a few prints with this and so far have had no problems, sticks to the bed great, and most importantly looks great, will be using this again in the future.
