Great outdoor WiFi solution
Great outdoor WiFi solution. The TP Link Deco X20 Outdoor provides strong, reliable coverage and works seamlessly with my existing Deco mesh system. Setup was straightforward, the connection is stable, and it has made a big difference in extending WiFi to my outdoor areas. Great performance and a solid choice for anyone needing dependable outdoor coverage.

Opens up a whole new world of Wifi coverage
Immediate disclaimer: Have not gone through a cold Northern Illinois winter with this unit, so we'll see how that goes. Otherwise, performance has been flawless. I bought our first one to extend range so we could monitor an outlying part of our property with a security camera (dang kids and their rock 'n roll music). It meshes perfectly with the rest of our indoor TP-Link Deco units. A couple months later I bought a second outdoor unit to use with Starlink. I mounted the unit right next to the Starlink receiver and switched this one over to be the base unit for the whole system. The AX1800 is directly compatible with the Starlink receiver, so I plugged it straight into the receiver and bypassed the Starlink modem. The Starlink receiver and AX1800 base unit are mounted on an outbuilding about 75 yards from the nearest indoor Deco, so I don't always get full strength on the Wifi, but it's good enough. Only negative is the plastic wall mount is a bit flimsy for high winds, so I reinforced it a bit. But if it eventually breaks, there are many other ways to secure it to a wall.

Do not buy this extender
Do not buy this extender. I spent hours researching before I purchased it. I'm very tech savvy, and couldn't get this to work. The directions are TERRIBLE, and don't even explain how to find where to plug in the power cord. I followed the "directions", got it up and running. When I unplugged it and moved it (not very far away from the router), and plugged it back in, the indicator stayed red (offline). I tried 3 times, then called support. They told me two things: I needed some other router to go with it, and that the ethernet had to always stay plugged into the router. Huh? It's an EXTENDER. It was also untrue. Once I got it up and running, I first unplugged the ethernet cable, and it stayed connected. But each time I unplugged it from the power outlet, I couldn't get it to connect again. I won't buy another product from this company again. I'm annoyed at how much time I spent trying to get this up and running just to call support and get no support.

Super speed and range
This is the one ! I bought a Deco 3 unit mesh for my house and it worked well. I have some cameras and smart items in my yard and workshop, about 60 feet away. This unit works perfectly as and add on for outside . I set it up for POE and it is strong and easy to use. My Deco master unit recognized it and I got it set up in less that 10 minutes. I am absolutely sold on TP-Link and Deco systems and equipment. I have tested with a phone wifi meter and my entire back yard receives a good steady signal.

Good range - decent signal
Provides a decent signal across a surprisingly long range - I have two of these - one on my deck and one near my boat. They are at least 300 feet apart. I go from about 200 Mbps at the house to about 40 Mbps at the boat but hey, I can stream on my boat - no complaining.

Easy setup to join existing network. Rugged
Simple setup. It quickly and easily joined my network and has added much needed coverage in my detached garage (for my garage door opener). It has endured high heat and dust all summer without issue. Solid.
