Through extremely difficult circumstances, Subaru and company manage to defeat the foe. It is as much a story about Wilhelm as about Subaru though, and the old man's struggle against the whale and against his past shine through very well. We're shown a lot of interesting characters contributing throughout to the battle, and Subaru continues to improve himself and shine as a character and as a hero. I recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed the series up until this point. I noticed no glaring translation or other issues in the text itself, and was able to stay engrossed throughout.

Better than the Anime
The story was well paced and the ending was satisfactory and open ended for the next volume. I really loved and it’s nice seeing Subaru not get completely destroyed by fate for once.

Fun exhilarating read.
Goes into further detail than the anime does. I am still waiting for the translated novels to pass the anime. Sadly translation is slow.

I thought this volume would be boring since the majority of it is just one huge fight but it was probably one of my favorite volumes I’ve read through so far. I liked the writing a lot and the descriptions. The story of the Sword Devil mixed in was also amazing.

La calidad ha sido consistente en todos los volúmenes, siento que la historia progresa muy lentamente, pero era de esperarse que se sintiera así habiendo visto primero el anime. Un dato a tener en cuenta, es que el número de volumen en los laterales, está a diferente altura en cada tomo, haciendo que no se vean parejos al ponerlos todos juntos en un librero.
