Plastic bottom not included
Plastic bottom not included with this model. Quite suprising as all the other models offered by this manufacturer do include a plastic bottom.

Unexpected luna moth babies
When you rescue a Luna moth that has gotten hit by a car giving "her" a nice quiet place to rest before returning her to the night, you do not expect her to trust you with her lot of a fifty or so eggsShe must have liked my dish towel that I used to cradle her so she could sleep easily through the day because that is where she put them before she died.Sweet gum leaves do have a uses. Very hungry baby caterpillars love them.I had to change the leaves every day and the paper towel lined bottom. My dad changed them when I went away.I believe I have between 8-11 cocoons. The other eggs didn't hatch. I don't know if it is because of the impact with a possible car that their mother had before I found her wings glued to the road by water or because a dish towel is not a sweet gum tree.I misted these guys as well as I could.I cannot speak as to warmth of this device except to say warmth regarding netting is kind of ridiculous. Now I have several cocoons and caterpillars who refuse to come out because it's getting cold outside. But thank you for your product from an unexpected foster mother.

Large and sturdy
I ordered this because I had 11 monarch caterpillars and I needed more space. My other enclosed was way too small. This is a large enclosure with one side being plastic. I laid it down so it was wider not taller. I put the plastic side down so it was so simple to clean! I just wiped with water when I had my caterpillars still eating. The zipper was easy to open and manage. I kept my enclosure on a table on my front porch. I put 2 water filled small plastic containers to weigh it down. It stayed put the whole time and still looks great. All 11 butterflies were healthy and released. You can see a few in the picture on the dried up milkweed. I can’t wait to use this again next year.

So good for keeping some insects.
I bought this for my grandson to keep his stick insects in. The idea was to keep a pot of the foodplant inside it, and release the stick insects into it - and it works brilliantly. It is light, so that it's easily moveable, airy, so no fungal growth from the regular water spray and the occupants are very visible through the clear plastic panel. It is also not unattractive when kept in the house. Our only problem was that the privet foodplant was just too big for it -so we bought a bigger one. That is seriously spacious, accomodates two foodplants and the fact that these stick insects fly. We just need to find the right size of tray for the bottom so that it doesn't fold when picked up due to the weight of the plants. We will keep the other one for his caterpillars in the spring. They are excellent containers for some insects, and so inexpensive. I don't believe in keeping butterflies captive, but for hatching them prior to release these devices are perfect. My only complaint is that the big one has black edging whereas the smaller one has pleasantly attractive green!

V good
Very easy to set up, spacious, and very sturdy. I don't know if the butterflies and moths liked it, but they didn't complain either so I can only assume they enjoyed their stay.

This Butterfly Habitat Net has been a life saver for my butterflies.
I love this Butterfly Habitat Net because it has been the best process to grow my butterflies in there and to learn of how they evolve from being a caterpillar into converting a butterfly, its really good way of learning!!!

Not suitable for all caterpillars
Product itself is sturdy and a really good size. However, all our Wood Leopard Moth caterpillars are escaping as they're small enough to fit through the very fine mesh - kind of annoying.
