Update 7/21/25: if you’re on the fence, get it. My dogs have all vastly improved. Any rando barks that remain (a fraction from before), they stop as soon as they see me pick up the device off the counter. Changing to 5 stars. Original review: So, this is my second of these kind of devices. My dogs had a collective strategy to find and destroy the first one. They were successful. This was 3 years ago when all 3 were pups and on a mission to take over the world. Well, the smallest is our barky pants. She’s a gangster and likes to start trouble with everything. Ya, we work on socialization, but she’s got an attitude that comes from deep inside her little doggie soul. Instead of her yelling then me yelling, leading to everyone yelling, I got this device. She is not a fan of this device, but I have to say it appears to be working. I have only had it about 5 days so far. I’m keeping this out of reach. I do find it’s a little enjoyable to press a button and see her look at me while stopping with her bark fest. I win today thanks to this. I even use it outside when the neighbor dogs want to have a fence conversation.

I saw this type of product on another website, but decided to try it here on Amazon. Videos made it seem like this product was a game changer, so I decided to try it out for myself. Being a mailman, you obviously come across dogs on your route. And with my route, I'm doing the walking... with ALOT of dogs that do nothing but bark (It's a headache!). So I was excited when my package came, charged it up and then used it the following day. Carefully read the included instructions and went about my day to try out the product. To my disappointment this only worked on about 10% of the dogs on my route. Those dogs were small dogs and medium/large sized dogs. And when it did work, those dogs would either immediately stop barking and became quiet, or stopped barking and then resorted to a low-toned growl. However, for the rest of the dogs they just ignored my attempts and kept on barking. Being so close to these dogs I'm well within the maximum range the device is listed for. I'm also not sure what's the point of the on & off switch because when I do switch it to "off" the unit still seems to be on, therefore draining the battery in between sessions. I'm extremely disappointed and will be looking for a return. No point in carrying around a device that more than likely won't work the way it's intended.

It does not Not work, but it isn’t the end all be all we all hope for. It’s different for each dog (I have 6).

I've got two small rescue dogs. One dog is around 13 years old, and he barks at everything or even at nothing. The other dog is two years old and only barks when the other dog barks. This ultrasonic dog bark deterrent has an ultrasonic beep and a regular beep that we use as a warning beep. This device works on my two year old dog. It's to the point, I can just say beep, and he will stop barking. However, my 13 year old dog is not phased by the beeping or ultrasonic beep at all. The battery life must be really good because I hardly remember to charge it, and it usually works when I need it. My biggest issue is I can't always find it when I need it. Often I cannot remember where I put this and by the time I find it, the dog has moved on from barking. Overall, I gave it 4 stars because it definitely decreased how long my one dog barks.

Does not have any effect on our dog. Makes him bark more and growl! I keep trying....

To urządzenie kompletnie nie działa. Po przyłożeniu blisko do ucha słychać ze emituje jakieś dźwięki. Testowałem przez dwa tygodnie na różnych psach - małych, dużych z podniesionymi uszami, oklapłymi uszami. Psy były mocniej lub mniej szczekające. Testowałem z bliskiej odległości przy różnych możliwych konfiguracjach częstotliwości. Kompletnie zero reakcji na działanie tego urządzenia przez którykolwiek z psów. Przed zakupem przeczytałem wiele opinii - większość pozytywnych aczkolwiek ze wskazaniem że to nie jest zawsze 100% efekt. Ale w moim to jest kompletne "zero". Może jest jakieś wybrakowane. Ale z drugiej strony niby działa ale nie działa.

Works as described! My dog responds well to the ultrasonic sound. It’s not a magic fix, but with consistent use, barking has reduced noticeably.
