Taking Berberine for 3 weeks. After one week I DEFINTELY noticed a huge difference with "food noise." I struggled for years with always feeling hungry (even on low carb) and it's hard to resist food when you are hungry all the time. I take one pill 15 minutes before my first meal and one pill before dinner - CONSTISTENTLY. I have lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks. I had slight upset stomach for the first 3 days but my body adjusted. Eat after taking pill. I was super skeptical about the brand but it had pretty high reviews (even compared to more expensive brands.) It must be absorbing because IT IS WORKING. I have been taking this for a week now and I have noticed a decrease in cravings. I struggle with sugar. I absolutely LOVE my sweets...cake, muffins, chocolate, powdered donuts, cereal...mostly before bed I need my sweet snack. After a week, I am no longer craving sweets. I take one pill about 30 mins before my first meal of the day and 30 minutes before dinner. I forced myself to eat my first meal of the day which wasn't really a meal just some blue corn chips and salsa and I noticed I ate a fraction of what I normally would eat. I also struggle with portion control. Today was the first day I wasn't hungry for dinner. I am also feeling full when eating a lot less than I am used to eating. I haven't had any digestive issues, or negative side effects. I haven't seen much of a difference in energy but I am also a non coffee/caffiene drinker and I make it through the day just fine. The price of this product compared to others is totally worth it. I feel it is doing exactly what it is supposed to and I am extremely happy with it. Some are saying each capsule is 1200mg, which is incorrect. Each serving is 1200 which is 2 capsules, so each capsule is 600mg. I will update in a month or so with progress. This is not a paid review.

I've been using various products from Nutricost over the years. They seem to be good quality products, although sometimes you need to check the TYPE of supplement they are using in the product for bio-availability... meaning that your body can actually absorb the supplement and you're not going to just pass it through you into the toilet... or tree line. Their dosages are usually a bit strange and off as well. In this example, Berberine at a 1200mg single dose is absolutely absurd. 1,200 mg hits your AMPK pathway and glucose uptake hard all at once. You will get a steep blood sugar drop roughly 1–2 hours after dosing. On its own, this can mean fatigue, brain fog, shakiness, and irritability. Berberine is harsh on the gut in large single doses. A 1,200 mg dose at once, you're likely looking at some nausea, cramping, and possible diarrhea for a significant portion of people. It's one of the most commonly reported reasons people abandon berberine supplementation entirely — the GI side effects at high single doses are well documented. Additionally, berberine's half-life is 4–6 hours, so a 1,200 mg dose floods the system, peaks, then clears before your next meal cycle even begins. You get a spike-and-crash pharmacokinetic profile instead of sustained AMPK activation across the day. You're essentially paying for 1,200 mg worth of berberine but only getting several hours of coverage rather than all-day metabolic support. So why the 5 stars, you ask? Well, if you're willing to put a little effort and ingenuity into your daily routine, each dose (2 caps) holds 3 doses of 400mg, which just so happens to be the perfect dosage you SHOULD be taking spread out over 3 meals a day. Preferably, your most CARB-heavy meals. For instance, I put 2/3 of a capsule into 3 smaller capsules, then you have your 400mg doses to take at breakfast, lunch and dinner… or if you have a snack that is high in carbs/sugar, that’s definitely the best time to take it. Take WITH meals/snacks! The 400 mg three times daily protocol directly solves three issues: consistent coverage, manageable gut load per dose, and no hypoglycemic spike. It's the dosing schedule used in most of the clinical trials that demonstrated berberine's efficacy. For anyone who's struggled with this supplement, I want to point out that the dosage is probably what's causing your issues, not the product itself. And Nutricost — if you're listening — a 400mg capsule option would go a long way toward making this easier for all of us.

It works well. I took one dose and helped my blood sugar control as well as increased my mental sharpness. I used it for a few weeks until I did my research. If by chance you are on other medications, especially Plavix, interactions like possibilities of increased bleeding, bruising, nose bleeds, and GI bleeds. No one needs a bit of brain bleeding.

Combining berberine with SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) or SSIs (like SNRIs) carries a significant risk of adverse drug interactions. Berberine can inhibit liver enzymes that metabolize these medications, leading to higher and potentially unsafe levels of antidepressants in your body.Because of the way these substances interact in the body, it is strongly recommended that you consult with your prescribing physician before combining them. I take Prozac and just found out, so after a month, I'm stopping, but definitely recommend if you are not on these meds

These are very easy to use, just 2 capsules per day. There’s a slight bitterness when it goes in your mouth but apart from that they are very effective. Definitely helped to control my blood sugar especially for something with PCOS. It enhanced my sleep and after almost finishing the bottle I can say it helped me with mental clarity.
