Needs work
Ordered two of these 2 years ago. Easy enough to install on and use, but after 1 year, both became corrupted. The machines are streaming machines- no special software. Then, just last week, 1 of them- the firmware got stuck and wouldnt allow for a proper format and refused install. There was a review at time of purchase that these were iffy. Should have taken it more seriously. Will not be buying these again.Edit on 2-21-2023: the second of the two streaming machines just got corrupted after a 4 month old format; Windows, VLC, teamviewer, minimal use.Encountered a 500 GB version in a co-worker's personal computer; they complained of it being horrendously slow, unable to multi-task. data corruption. took the drive out and replaced it with a Kingston. Lightning fast now. This drive simply sucks.

decent ssd overall , 525 read 497 write
working good as a OS ssd , no problems so far, however this ssd has alot of bad reviews , with the price of ssds going down as of sept 2019 , getting a higher quality brand wont break the bank- Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 525.068 MB/s- Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 497.108 MB/s-Random Read 4KiB (Q= 8,T= 8) : 92.958 MB/s [ 22694.8 IOPS]- Random Write 4KiB (Q= 8,T= 8) : 188.886 MB/s [ 46114.7 IOPS]- Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 92.831 MB/s [ 22663.8 IOPS]- Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 194.573 MB/s [ 47503.2 IOPS]- Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 32.024 MB/s [ 7818.4 IOPS]- Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 97.282 MB/s [ 23750.5 IOPS]Test : 1024 MiB [P: 0.1% (0.1/111.8 GiB)] (x5) [Interval=5 sec]Date : 2018/07/27 10:16:50OS : Windows 10 Professional [10.0 Build 17134] (x64)

Erratic: Fast Then Slow
Over time, this drive slows down to Hard Drive speeds. After tweaking the TRIM and rebooting, this SSD will show decent numbers for read, but not write. Testing it again, reveals that it has slowed down, again. If tested two or more times in succession, the reads and write go up, showing how erratic it is.I installed a Crucial SSD that had the nearly exact cost: $19.99 for the HP vs. $19.95 for the Crucial. While testing both drives at the same time, the Crucial FAR out-performed the HP.I would not recommend this drive.

Shockingly unreliable
I work as an IT tech for a medium sized business. We ordered 50 of these SSDs last year to retrofit to existing PCs. Within a few weeks of installation, some of the computers has started to behave erratically; soon, some would no longer boot at all. Examining the Windows Event Log revealed numerous disk errors on around 35 of the 50 PCs with these drives, and at least 10 were behaving erratically due to corrupted data. As we raced to swap them all with good SSDs, around 10 of the 50 became so corrupt they would not boot. This is within 1 month of installation, on a normal desktop workload. We thought they were just a bad batch. But around 10 months later as I write this, 3 of the 5 SSDs of the same model we have from a completely different batch have brought the computers they are in down with dangerous, hard to diagnose silent data corruption. It's also worth knowing that these are not made, marketed or supported by HP, but by a company called Multipointe Channel Solutions, who appear to have merely licensed HP's brand. We are now successfully using Kingston A400 120GB SSDs in 180+ computers and have not had a single failure in the 8 months or so we have been using them. We have also had good results with more expensive HP-branded M700 120GB model (also made by Multipointe) but advise extreme caution with this brand!

It is real and it is functional
It is a real product, I went to an Office Depot and purchased one. (see pics)It is quite cheap, sure, but it does what it says it's supposed to and so far is acting just like the other ssd in my laptop.I'm sure HP contracted out for these, I am just not sure who actually made them, that's why I probably would not recommend putting an OS on one unless you have run it for a few months first.
