Pleasant Hearth CR-3400 Craton Fireplace Glass Door, Gunmetal, Small

This is an awesome product. I used it to cover a LP gas fireplace that was very drafty in the winter. The product does not have a built in way to attach it to the metal fireplace insert, but I found that 4 strong magnets (bought from amazon and placed in each corner) were more then sufficient to hold the doors onto the metal surround. The only issue I had was that the inner screens are not flush on their hinges, so when the screens were opened the doors swing inwards roughly 1 cm. With my fireplace this was hitting the metal surround. I was able to solve this by simply removing the screens. Overall I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

If your fireplace is standard (fits the criteria for the fire-doors) then all is fine. Mine didn't.Love the product and is very well built. Price is great too. I gave it five stars because of my installation requirements. My new marble facade on my fireplace didn't allow for everything to be done with the kit without some modifications. So after modifying the brackets (grinding, filing, and bending) in my shop I was able to securely mount it to my fireplace.After all of the hassle I am very happy.Just be aware that everything might not go exactly as planned.

Was looking for a quick and easy way to secure our fireplace to keep out critters and rodents. Item arrived well packaged and looked far better in person than in pictures. It is well made and high quality. Installation was easy instructions were easy to follow. Just a piece of advice for anyone purchasing: I highly recommend you use high temperature fireplace caulking (gray in color-of course, available at HD or hardware store) to secure the edges. This will give added air tightness to your unit and even out the high and low points (I applied mine to brick and there were uneven areas). This accessory to our living space has significantly increased the cosmetics of our home. Many friends in the business have asked me how many thousands I spent on the fireplace doors and they are all shocked that it's Amazon Prime.

We recently refaced our brick fireplace with tile and our old grate didn't look good with the new tile and didn't fit anyways, so the search was on for a new fireplace door. We had seen a few that looked similar to this one at the local big box hardware stores, but they were all special order and more expensive than on Amazon.We also went to a specialty fireplace store and were were shocked at how pricey the doors were (some of them were even $3000)! So we walked out of that store and decided to take a risk buying a door online.The installation went pretty easily and it looks better than expected. It goes great with our new tile and looks way better than the old one. The only issue is that it's not air-tight and there was a pretty hefty draft still coming through the door. Perhaps that's what you get if you pay for the super premium models, but it's better than no door at all.

The color of this hearth is darker in my house compared to the picture (perhaps a flash or bright lighting was used when it was photographed). I do not consider this a bad thing, as it looks great!Installation was a breeze. I am not exactly a handy person, and it took me about 30 to 45 minutes to carefully install. No exotic tools are needed, and it secured itself a heck of a lot better than our previous hearth. Our kids could probably climb up the fireplace without the hearth even budging, but i wouldn't suggest using it as a jungle gym.The overall design is very sturdy. Magnets latch both the screen and the outer glass doors, giving it a very satisfying snap on closure. While the inside screen will swing shut, the outer glass door hinges are higher resistance and will stop securely at any position between open and shut. This should prevent anyone from casually slamming the glass doors shut.

Gosh, I like this fire place door. It looks so good! I didn’t have any trouble with the installation because it fit perfectly and I didn’t have to hold it in place during installation. It is heavy and I do recommend having someone hold it while you install it for easier installation. Also, the directions were fairly easy to understand but read thoroughly and read again. Then take some more measurements of both the surround and the fire place opening, including the depth of the brick front of fireplace, for a fit check before finally doing the installation. The fit check is going to save you a lot of time.

Bought this door to replace an old brass fireplace door set and stand alone screen. The new doors look great and the unit itself was super easy to install. The one pain of the installation is getting the doors even. They're easy enough to adjust using the hinge screws but for whatever reason I had a frustrating time getting them lined up evenly. One thing I have noticed regarding the price is it fluctuates a lot. So, if you're not in dire need, you may be able to keep your eye on it and get a better price from time to time.

The media could not be loaded. Check out my video upload. This is a great deal for this fireplace door. High quality, fairly easy to install with basic handtools, feels very strong and sturdy. Has mesh doors that close with a magnet so kids cannot open it. The glass is thick and can withstand a lot of heat. We have been burning a lot of wood and so far no issues.
