My first order came with an empty package, but the Duncan family was kind enough to replace that order it and I received it intact. These gas flares are very effective against underground rodents.

Highly recommend! This product worked great for the rats in our barn. Basically like a road flare, remove the cap and strike it and put it down into the hole, then cover the hole with a rock or board. I think it would kill babies in a nest, but don't count on it to fully kill adolescents and adults. It smoked them out and we stood nearby and clobbered them with a shovel as they burrowed out of a different hole. The sulfur odor is about the same as a stink bomb, we did it in an open barn and we could smell it but it wasn't a problem to be in the area.

I had voles/moles digging in about a 20x20 area in my yard. I touched off the entire pack of these in several holes and covered them with dirt to smoke em out. 2 days later the moles retaliated and really started digging to show me who the boss really was. Think I will try to flood them out. Had good luck with that in the past. As for these...I think they the equivalent of those candy cigarettes we used to chew up in the 80's.

If this actually works, but I feel great using it. Have a bill Murray moment of trying to find where these voles are getting into my yard, found a couple holes and gassed them. I also took the recommendation from another reviewer and blew a little error with my leaf blower in the hole while I was gassing them.. again not sure if it really works, but this is damn fun to use

I was a little afraid of this. But it was easy to use and relatively foolproof. I dropped the smoking bomb in the groundhog hole and covered it up with cardboard and a rock. I have not seen the groundhog lately. I do think I will use the remaining bombs once every month.
