Dometic CFX Electric Cooler | Portable Freezer | CFX5 & CFX3 Series | AC/DC or Solar Powered

This review is of the CFX5-25 and CFX5-35. I use them for day trips and vacations in Florida. I have a Dometic cover on both. Quality Materials. The Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35 are very well made. All materials seem to be of the highest quality. Noise. They are silent. Even in the quiet of my home, when they are cooling down for a trip, I look at the display to check if they are running. Time to Cool empty at home on AC Power. The CFX5-25 cools to 32 degrees F in 30 minutes. The CFX5-35 cools to 29 degrees F in about an hour. Display. It has a menu, and you scroll through, select a display item, and then you can change the item. I have only needed to change the temperature. In-Car Operation. In a car in the summer in Florida, whichever CFX5 I want to use as the "refrigerator," I set at 32 degrees F. Nothing has been frozen. For the CFX5 I want to use as the "freezer," I set it at 25 degrees F. Everything stays frozen. Power. I already had an Anker SOLIX C2000 and an Anker SOLIX C1000 when I got the Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35. They are far, far more than needed to power the Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35 for a whole day of driving. Insulation. I think the Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35 must have excellent insulation because they use so little power to keep the food cold or frozen. Value. The Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35 are a good value in terms of time saved and ease of use. I take day trips in Florida twice a month, and twice a week I need to keep food cold for a three-hour drive. Without the Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35, I was always putting the Blue Freez Paks into a rolling ice chest, unloading the Blue Freez Paks at the end of a drive or trip, and moving the Blue Freez Paks around in my freezer depending on the amount of frozen food I had on hand. I love the Dometic CFX5-25 and CFX5-35. They make travel much more convenient because whatever food I want to bring along stays at the right temperature. Loading and unloading the car is much faster because I no longer need to use the Blue Freez Paks.

I previously owned a CFX3 model which died after about a year of use. Despite that, I decided to give Dometic another chance and purchased the new CFX5 25Q — unfortunately, it arrived completely dead on arrival (DOA). Spending nearly $1,000 on a portable fridge (twice) and having one fail in a year and another not even turn on out of the box clearly points to serious issues with quality control and reliability. I can now say with confidence: this is not a good product, and I can no longer recommend the brand. Very disappointed.

I purchased this Dometic car refrigerator for road trips, hoping its premium reputation would deliver top performance in my car’s rough environment. The build quality is impressive—sturdy, well-made, and feels like it’ll last years. It’s also surprisingly lightweight for its size, making it easy to move in and out of my vehicle. Another plus is how quiet it runs; I could barely hear it, which is great for overnight camping. Unfortunately, the negatives were a letdown for such an expensive fridge. The Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection was unreliable, often dropping when I tried to monitor it via the app. Worse, the temperature varied significantly—up to 10°F between the top ledge and the bottom. To keep everything at a safe 40°F, I had to set the fridge to 33°F, which seems off for a unit praised for its insulation. It also took forever to stabilize, sometimes 12+ hours, which was frustrating when I needed consistent cooling fast. For the high price tag, I expected better performance from a brand like Dometic. It’s a solid build, but the temperature issues and spotty connectivity make it hard to recommend unless you’re okay with these flaws.

Lid doesn’t latch to close. Even when I press down on it, it won’t latch. What good is the extra insulation if the lid doesn’t close?

1 ster omdat 0 niet gaat. Het artikel (Dometic CFX5 25, 25 liter elektrische compressiekoelbox) werkte niet bij levering. Ik had voor alle zekerheid een dag gewacht om zeker te zijn dat de koelvloeistof voldoende tijd had gehad om stabiel te staan, maar het ding deed het gewoon niet; niet op netstroom en niet via de sigarettenaansteker in de auto. Bovendien merkte ik dat de sluiting van het deksel niet correct was: de voorziene "klik" bij het sluiten was er niet en je kon het deksel gewoon terug optillen. Ik heb het ding gewoon terug gestuurd en ben op zoek gegaan naar een ander merk, zonder een vervanging te overwegen. Als je als fabrikant 749 euro vraagt voor een artikel, dan verwacht de klant dat het artikel perfect is. Dat houdt in dat er minstens een kwaliteitscontrole gebeurt voor de verzending, want anders minacht je volgens mij de klant. Voor mij heeft dit merk dus definitief afgedaan.

Per adesso siamo soddisfatti Un po' meno della spedizione da parte di un corriere esterno ad Amazon

Die Kompressor Kühlbox ist etwas teuer aber sie ist es wert. Sehr gute Verarbeitung schnelle Kühlung sehr wertig anzusehen, mit der App über Bluetooth gut zu steuern. Würde diese Kühlbox immer wieder kaufen
