6PCS Metal Anti-Climb Fence Spikes, Durable Wall Guard for Home Security

I selected these spike strips above others because I have had a hungry raccoon problem. They are very sturdy metal and very sharp. Sharper than a family of relentless raccoons. Be cautious unpacking them. They also come with 2 complete sets of mounting screws. I have these spike strips mounted in 2 separate installations. The strips are 15 3/4” long, so I mounted 4 of them on a 17” piece of 4x4 post with the included screws. Holes were drilled in the post ends using a 1” spade bit for inserting standard 1” bird feeder pole into top and bottom. A bird bell was also added. Although it sits on the ground, it’s all supported by a sturdy tripod for a roof mounted antenna pole. For your raccoon tormenting pleasure, I hereby introduce the first raccoon starvation device (first photo). The 2nd installation of spike strips is on a 6x6 cedar post on my porch. To be effective against climbing critters, the spikes need to be placed where the raccoons get their grip on the post, at the edges. I attached 4 strips mounted 1/2” from the edge, and not in the middle of the post. I have these mounted at various points at my fenced rental properties in a bad neighbourhood in downtown Edmonton, mostly fence corners and on/around gates where climbing is possible. I add more whenever my cameras catch people climbing at a different location. They're expensive for what they are (just short, sharpened lengths of steel really) but they work.

This product is AWESOME! We bought a few to help keep the feral cats from our neighborhood out of our backyard, and it works like a charm. As an unexpected bonus, we also saw it stop a squirrel dead in its tracks. We joked that the squirrel dropped his nuts and received an instant “castration” — safe to say he hasn’t been back to mess with our garden since! 😂 In all seriousness, this product does a fantastic job keeping cats and other critters away. Highly recommend!

Total game changer. I was a bit skeptic when I first ordered them, but now that they’re installed, I’m superrr happy. I might honestly purchase a second pack. They’re super sturdy and well made and easy to install. The size is ideal for our fence and it comes with multiple spikes so you’re able to place them in different locations if needed. They function extremely well for home safety, keeping little animals away, etc. I do think they were a bit pricey but the quality is unmatched.
