I have both versions of the Umarex P8
This will be short since there is a lot already written about them. Both are beautiful guns in appearance. To my eye they are virtually identical. Also true in weight, balance etc. The blow back feature is a nice aspect but it doesn't disqualify the non-blowback version for me. I cleaned and lubed the blowback version and it has worked flawlessly so far. I did the same for the non-blowback version and it has performed flawlessly as well. As mentioned by others, neither gun is particularly accurate and the sights are not the easiest to line up. I applied a bit of white to the front sight to make it easier. I can keep 5 shots from both pistol roughly within a 3" splatter target at 18ft. with an outlier here and there. The power is the large difference. In my fairly cool temperature basement the blowback version averaged around 245 fps and could basically only dent soda cans. The non-blowback version averaged around 390 fps and was a bit more fun to shoot for me. I am definitely happy with both pistols.

ATTENTION potential buyers
Just a warning to not do what some people have done and i almost did .. I almost bought the reg. p08 thinking it was the blow-back model ,,if i had received the reg. model and went to pull back the toggle and it didn't budge id be like wtf ,,(of course thanks to am@zon i could have exchanged it) . I was watching a y@utube P08 unboxing video yesterday and the guy pulled back the toggle and he couldn't figure out why the toggle wouldn't move .. So if its about 65 bucks its Non-blowback ,about 120 bucks blowback model Most of you already know this info , but maybe it will save someone some disappointment

Avoid. Itโs a wish gun, if you have one you will wish it worked.
Bought a second po8 after returning the first gun due to a full auto issue, and trigger that wouldnโt reset. Both guns looked great. Both guns felt great. I returned the first and second guns due to a safety issue. Both of these semi auto pistols experienced occurrences of full auto firing, dumping remanding bbโs. ๐ซจ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ. The sights of second po8 were off so much I had to aim five inches to the right of target, a soup can, fifteen feet away ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ. Actually it may not have been the sights as the brass bb barrel is off center. Second pistol had unprofessional looking file marks inside on the toggle.

Nice CO2 Luger; Break-in Necessary.
I received this gun yesterday and gave it a thorough cleaning and lubrication with synthetic oil. The new magazine's BB channel was pretty gritty so it got special attention. I always clean airguns with rubbing alcohol as Umarex recommends. It looks great and is quite straightforward, just like a Luger. Test firing showed one immediate problem; the toggle doesn't always always have enough oomph to load the next BB. This is an intermittant issue and I suspect as the parts wear in, there should be enough spring in the toggle to push the toggle completely rearward and enough resultant return force to strip a BB from the msgazine. I hope so anyway.

A hoot to shoot.
Solid, hefty, precisely made. Serious fun. Shoots soda can accurate at reasonable distances if one does oneโs part. While pricey an extra magazine is nonetheless worthwhile. No issues with pistol so far. Impressed with build quality. Like anything precision made the pistol likely will not tolerate abuse or neglect so treat it accordingly. Buy lots of co2 cartridges. One cartridge will power two fills of bbs, approximately 40 shots before power fades. The whole point of this pistol is the blow back action, and co2 consumption is the price to pay. I load only 10 bbs at a time to pace the shooting. CO2 cools rapidly as used, cooling reduces pressure. Having to stop and reload gives the cartridge time to warm up a bit. Shorter shot strings also reduce cooling effect. FWIW, the P08 firearm magazine only holds eight rounds so using fewer bbs at a time is closer to the real deal. Did I mention this Is an hoot to shoot? Get one. Have fun.

Awesome replica!
Got this for my birthday. I absolutely love it! It does use a lot of gas though. You can get 2 and a half uses out of a canister. The toggle action works flawlessly and locks open when the mag is empty. The iron sights take a bit to get used to, But are pretty good. The gun is accurate at about 15-20 ft, great for shooting cans. I decided to paint the grips and end of the mag to look like wood and it looks great!
