Changed review to 5 stars after a year of use.
It has a couple of quirks I could do without. The first one is just silly. It starts flashing a green LED "freeze warning" any time the temperature gets to 36 degrees or thereabouts and continues as it gets colder. Really? I haven't noticed what temp makes it stop but it seems a bit of a drama-queen feature. This one really bugs me. The light button is on the front, bottom center. It should be on the top where you could tap it to illuminate. It's hard enough to remember where the thing is sitting in the dark but this one requires you to find it, grasp it with one hand then push the light button with another without knocking everything else off your nightstand or cabinet or whatever. That being said, I'd still buy it again. It works great, is one of the few that gives me outdoor AND indoor humidity levels and temps, and doesn't have all the barometer-driven imaginary predictions. It really is a neat little critter.Update, 12/9/2017: When I bought the unit I read many complaints about the Bluetooth not working well, so I never bothered with it. On a lark, I decided to try it. It works great! Now I can check the outside and inside temp from my phone while in another room. Which makes my complaint about the light switch far less of an issue if my phone is near.Still works like a champ and am changing my review to a 5-star accordingly.

Big improvement over my old one...
Big improvement over my old one... But read the fine print. The good news - Range seems markedly better. Thanks Oregon Scientific for fixing the ridiculous "Replace Battery" process in your older stations that required a careful read of the user manual to get it to communicate properly with its sensors. Now it's just plug and play. The buttons are up front instead of on the side and back making the unit's operation much easier than my old one ( Oregon Scientific BAR388HGA Wireless Weather Station with Atomic Clock, Black ). It's relatively small - still cannot be wall mounted, but in my way of thinking, a better footprint. Capable of pairing with 5 remote sensors. Nice. But you need a special remote sensor ( Oregon Scientific BTHGN129 WeatheratHome Wireless Weather Station with Thermometer ) that costs an extra $40. It's got a Bluetooth connection and an app. Meh. Not interested in being able to view what's on my unit when I'm within Bluetooth range (solution looking for a problem?) and who needs another potential cyber vulnerability? Also, reviews about the app's capability are not, well, all that kind. I didn't actually install the app or pair the device, so I cannot comment on anything other than its intended functionality. Might have been interested if the thing connected to wi-fi allowing me to monitor home conditions via the internet, but see also, "Who needs another potential cyber vulnerability?".The fine print - this doesn't make a connection to the government's atomic clock in Colorado like my old one. Just something I assumed would be an included feature. Not a huge deal - setting the time, date and time zone manually is not a big deal, and it can assume the time of the device that's connected via Bluetooth - if you want to go that route - but I did like having an authoritative source of the exact time at one place in my house. This one also doesn't display the ambient barometric pressure or moon phases or weather trends. Again, not huge but a couple of "missed" features I sort of liked in my old one (I don't miss the old one's "guess" at the current weather condition, like sunny, rainy, cloudy, snowy, etc. That was a joke that this one doesn't perpetuate). The included sensor ( Oregon Scientific THN132N Wireless Temperature Sensor ) is displayless other than the red LED and only has 3 pairing channels. So if, like me, this is a replacement for a failed base unit and you want to preserve your investment in three existing Oregon Scientific sensors, this one just winds up in the drawer as a spare and the base's capability to pair with two more sensors goes unused.Still, for the money I think it deserves 5 stars so far. In fairness, none of the "fine print" gripes I had weren't covered in the product description - hence the "5". You just have to study it carefully to understand what you're getting. Hope this one's display doesn't deteriorate and finally fail like my old one. In this day and age, five years seems like a short lifespan for an LCD display. We shall see how the new one holds up.

Nice but NOT functional
If it only worked correctly! The issue is with the phone app connectivity, the reason I bought this unit. The iPhone app stops "talking" to the base unit and I have to search for a paper clip so I can take off the battery cover and reset the unit. The unit is somewhat finicky as to the distance from the remote unit compared to the unit this replaced. Honestly if I didn't throw out the packaging I'd return the unit back to Amazon. When it's functioning correctly it is very handy as I can check temps on my iPhone or iPad. It always stops working at the most inopertune times. I cannot recommend this product. My outdoor sensor unit has trouble connecting to the indoor base, even with fresh batteries, which is literally three feet away. The whole concept of the gauge and phone/tablet app is wonderful but performance is at best poor. I cannot recommend this product.Edit: iOS 9 is not compatible at this time 09/21/15. Also note if you have an iPad and iPhone pick one device to view info from app on. If you use two devices the unit will lock up. Also after you are done viewing info "force close" the app. If you do not the next time you check temps the unit will have to be reset in order to connect to an iOS device. All in all I lowered my rating to one star and I would strongly advise you to look for a different manufacturer. This product has just not worked out well for me. Buyer beware.Edit 09-21-15 (Monday) I contacted Oregon Scientific tech support regarding the iPhone app not being updated. I was told my concern was a common problem this week. The representative said an iOS 9 app update will be available next week. I take this with little merit because we all know the app developer platform has been available since June of 2015. As an Apple fan you might realize the "professional app developers" had iOS 9 compatible apps released days before iOS 9 was available for download. In other words, please do not hold your breath while you wait for an app update. I cannot recommend this product.

Buen Producto
La APP de android para conectar el celular por bluetooth no sirve. No empareja la base con el celular.Si se restablece la base y se reinstala la aplicación si se emparejan, pero a los pocos días vuelve a fallar.

Works really well
The item arrived promptly, worked immediately, and does exactly as promised. Note: The package DID include batteries, despite what they said.

Garbage
Product turned out to be absolute garbage. Reading on outside sensor started to drift last winter (about a 5 deg C difference from actual temperature)This summer the product has died completely. A mere 1.5 years into the purchase. This feedback is as much to the company who made the product but also to Amazon for increasingly carrying such low quality material.

Good, simple unit but there are a few tricks... DON'T PANIC!!
This unit was bought for my Mum to replace an older 20 MHz unit because the outside sensor was not working. The set up is not too complicated if you are familiar with the unit but there are a few tricks for the uninitiated that need some explaining and probably go to explain the bad reviews this unit sometimes gets.First of all, it needs to be explained that this device DOES come with an outdoor sensor included (Hooray!).Placing the batteries in the unit is no different to any other but it's best to put the batteries in the base station first. While you've got the cover off, use a paperclip or a toothpick to set the unit to measure Celsius or Fahrenheit (if you must...). There are two holes in the battery compartment, one for reset and the other, on the right, for units of measurement.Secondly, when you put the battery in the sensor unit, make sure you know what the channel switch is set to (default is 1). Before replacing the cover, press the RESET button with a paperclip or toothpick. You have to do this every time you change the battery.Check in the top left corner of the base station to see what channel you're on. Use the arrow keys to find the correct channel. This should also be the first thing you do when you are not getting a reading from the outdoor sensor. If you still can't get a reading, press the up arrow and MODE simultaneously and the unit will scan for the signal. The phone app works well enough but isn't very intuitive. A bit of playing around with it and you'll get the idea. All of this information can be found in the instructions. They are not badly written but some people clearly don't read them properly and bin the unit, blaming Oregon Scientific. The result of this is that I learnt from the process and we now have not one but two units that work as advertised. This is particularly convenient for my Mum.This is a good little weather station, especially for the price. The screen is easy to read and logically laid out. Accessing the memory via the app is relatively simple, once you know what you're looking for.
