Love this!
I live on a boat and needed a salt grinder that had no metal parts because they corrode. This works great.

Great, reliable salt and pepper grinders
We bought a pair of these a couple of years ago and they have been great! One is for coarse salt and one for pepper corns. Adjustable, each user can determine how coarse or fine they would like their salt and pepper. No problems with breakage or jamming. These grinders get heavy, regular use. I just ordered a second pair to take to our temporary residence out of state. I have no idea how they are for spices but I suspect they would work for most dry, hard spices that are pepper corn size or smaller.Feb 2022 - we finally had one of the grinders 'break' (i.e. come apart), and I can't figure out an easy (or any) fix, so I ordered a replacement grinder. It arrived quickly. Same size, shape and all that. One BIG (not so big) disappointment. The Kyocera name branding used to be in very small letters along the bottom. The letters have been made noticeably bigger. Other than that, still a great grinder! YES!We strongly recommend these. Not indestructible, but they don't corrode, they are easy to clean, and they grind much better than almost any other grinder we have found. And, after five or more years of use, multiple times per day, only one (out of the four we own) has broken. That is pretty good performance!

Hands down, the best pepper mill I've ever tried
I had a similar one 20 years ago that eventually broke, and have been looking for a new one ever since. Finally, the Kyocera appeared, and I am now whole again. Thank you!

Defective Manufacturing
I have owned six of these grinders (same make and model) overtime. Only two - being used for peppercorns only - remain. I think I have a few months left on these but cannot predict. The photo shows what I have come to experience as typical. After time - about 12 months - the grinding mechanism will separate from the outside housing (top of photo) and the contents of the grinder and grinder parts dump out onto whatever you were seasoning.Last straw for me happened when I was plating a bias-cut Muscovy duck breast. Wanted a small grind of salt before I sauced and got about 1/3 cup of coarse sea salt (and a few ceramic parts) spread over the entire plate. Ruined. The duck cost more than the grinder.I have tried to reassemble four of these without luck. Not able to determine the cause of failure and a method for repair is unavailable. The sad thing is that the grinding mechanism appears to be in perfect shape. The carrier for the grinding mechanism is not up to workmanlike engineering standards.Kyocera has great products and I own several (without moving parts). Perhaps they should concentrate on what they do best; ceramics without a mechanical interface.

Loved these for years but each one dies younger
Edited again to add: Sadly the latest one just died after just 9 months. Again the plastic guts were too weak for their job. We will be switching to a different brand. It may just be random chance but I suspect the quality is decreasing.Edited to add: My second one has failed after about 6y which is great for the price! But it is a shame that an otherwise sturdy product has fragile parts that make it disposable. I would rather pay way more and have it last forever than have to keep tossing these in the landfill. Mine cracked in exactly the same way as you see in the top rated review. No weird user error, it was just fine one day then got a bit weird then totally stopped working, and when I went to check if it needed cleaning or something, I saw the broken part.I broke our first one, after 2-3yrs, by taking it apart at the wrong joint. All you have to remember is that the whole plastic part unscrews from the glass part. But somehow I forgot and wrestled the plastic piece apart, cracking part of it.I was confusing this with a coffee grinder I bought at the same time and was thinking it cost $60, & even at that I was likely going to buy another. I was very happy when I came on here and saw it's really just $20!! I honestly believed it was a $60 device so that tells you how much we like it. We like pepper on everything and we like it FINE, like almost the texture of flour, and unlike other mills we had in the past, the Kyocera has the ability to grind very finely. I have mild tendonitis and the action of using this mill does not make my hands sore or tired at all even when I grind quite a lot like for a big batch of soup. I tried using it for flax but the stickiness of the oils made it too hard for me to turn with my bad hands. Cleaning it to switch products was also a pain- it has to sit out for a couple days to totally dry if you wash it! If you have strong, healthy hands and like to put flax on your breakfast daily, I would recommend getting one for flax and one for pepper. I also tried it on sea salt and that works fine but since salt doesn't go bad I think it's unnecessary to have it in a mill I just buy fineground. I tried using it to pulverize a mix of dry herbs to go on popcorn, and it was super frustrating. It's gravity fed so light material doesn't get drawn down into the burrs. Basically, it's awesome for dry stuff like pepper and tolerable for sticky stuff like flax. Much more attractive to my eye than the typical big oak post style ones too (I find them really ugly!). When this one dies I will definitely buy again.

A great quality grinder
In ceramics Kyocera is a highly respected name. This grinder meets that expectation. I use it to grind red pepper flakes and it does a great job from fine to coarse. It is slim enough to grip well and still hold a good amount of material. There is a press on lid that I’d like to leave off but it would probably get lost in the drawer over time. Too bad there isn’t some kind of way to “store” the lid on the grinder while cooking and frequently using the grinder.

Is it dumb to love objects?
I have had these salt and pepper mills for a long time now and absolutely love them. Then, I bought these Aelga vinegar and oil cruets to match. The only issue I had with the mills was in the very beginning- I forgot to tell my husband how they worked (the cap comes off the top) and I thought he broke one of them, but I was able to put it back together with ease luckily. Lol. Totally worth it and very attractive design. You can adjust the grind to your liking. So far, no issues with the mill losing its ability to grind.

Bought one for everyone I know
Not sure how I haven't left a review yet for this mill.I bought one for myself and loved it and have since purchased four for gifts.Pepper mills just seem to break, so I was happy to find a good quality one that will last.Other pros of this product:-It isn't too tall, so it'll fit in your cupboard-The mill is on top with a lid, so keeps dust out and prevents your shelf from getting covered in pepper-It is easy to clean/wipe off and refill-It works great and is adjustable-My MIL who is a pepper fanatic loved it

Triturador cerâmico uso para sal grosso
Adoro usar esse produto com sal grosso pois fica como se usasse flor de sal na comida, facilita muito cozinhar e não enferruja por ser cerâmico.
