Smooth and snappy
These are great, very supple and responsive. I trust DaVinci more than the other assortment of brands you might see listed as Sable brushes... My personal preference is for shorter handles, and my ultimate favorite still remains the DaVinci micro maestro sable tipped brushes, but these are still great quality workhorse brushes if you take proper care and maintenance

Really nice quality brushes
Echoing most of the other reviews for this product, as I've had a similar experience. I'm really happy with the quality of the brushes! They've been nice to work with for tiny details - they hold a decent amount of paint for their size, deposit paint smoothly, hold their point very well, and feel sturdy and well made. I will say I do feel like the smallest 1-2 brushes in the set are so tiny that I don't feel like I'll end up using them, given how well the larger 2 hold their point, I don't think the smaller 1-2 do much that the others in the set can't already do, but that's more of a personal preference based on the work I'm using them for. I agree with other reviewers that the packaging is lacking. Each brush did have a protective tube over the bristles, but the set came in a thin plastic cellophane bag that made it feel like I was unwrapping $5 children's brushes from Target. I'm not looking for anything crazy packaging-wise but something a bit more elevated to match the price point/experience of using the brushes would be nice.

A joy to use!
These are professional quality brushes, there's just nothing like these. They hold a point and can hold a lot more paint than synthetics the same size. These are great for detail work, they snap back to a tidy point. I have a couple of sable brushes by an unknown brand, and these are clearly superior, the bristles are very neat, and I don't see any shedding. Davinci is a known name in the watercolor scene and lives up to the reputation, they really are among the best! If you are new to watercolor, these are probably not a good choice only because of the small size. I recommend at least a 2 round to start if not larger, you want a brush that's capable of filling larger areas and you'll want to learn how to lump your shapes and shadows as large as possible. These are for folks who already have "workhorses" and need brushes that can handle extreme detail work such as foliage and so-on. I received this item for free through Vine for an unbiased review, my opinion is my own.

gorgeous brushes, as always
Da Vinci makes outstanding brushes, and these are no different. I didn't notice they were real sable (NOT synthetic) when I selected them, which is a shame (I avoid animal products in art/food/life when I can just for ethical reasons) because they perform wonderfully- they produce a crisp, juicy line and hold lots of paint and water for their small size, as the best quality animal hair brushes should. These are beautiful. There are some great synthetic on the market, and I use them 99.9% of the time, but whenever I use a natural hair brush that is quality, I realize that synthetics still have a bit to go. You can't go wrong with a Da Vinci brush.

Very fine brushes
These are some really nice fine brushes for details. For anyone who is painting it’s always good to have different sizes of brushes to have different sizes of lines. That being said I wouldn’t consider these professional but as a hobby paint brush and they do preform well enough for my family needs. Both of my children love painting and these paint brushes took places of a few old brushes. Kids normally don’t reach for the small detailed brushes but I do! I loved these brushes! They’d make a great stocking stuffer, or even in a gift basket made for a person who enjoys art along with some paints. They did arrive in a plastic sleeve, and they had plastic cylinders around the brushes to keep them from fraying.
