Q: How can I turn off the beep sound? A: The lock does not have a switch to turn off the beep sound. Some customers told us that to lower the volume they used sticky tapes to cover the holes on the lock or even use silicon glue to seal them off. "can I disable the auto lock feature?" - short answer is "NO!" This is a designed security feature to prevent "forget-to-lock." The knob will be back to "lock" position automatically after 3-second of a valid code entry. For frequent open-close-door, you may either use "latch stopper" included in the package, or set P-mode "Passage" with 1-touch unlock without the need of access code. This is NOT a dead-bolt: when you press a valid code, you need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock within 3-sec while beeping! This is also a security feature "auto-lock" to prevent from "forgot-to-lock." This is a spring latch lock. The latch does NOT have motor and does NOT move itself. Therefore, it lasts longer than deadbolt. Again, You will need to TURN the keypad knob to unlock.

Question 2

What if you are using this on an inside door and the door shuts behind you. Will you be locked in?

Accepted Answer

If you install it so that the keypad is facing inside of a room, then yes, the door shutting behind you would require you to input a code to turn the handle and get out of that room. The other side (no keypad) turns and can open the door at any time (without inputting a code). Installing it facing into a room seems unlikely. Most likely, you would be installing it with the keypad facing out of the room; in which case, you would not be locked in if the door shuts while you are inside the room.
