Sailnovo Rooftop Cargo Carrier roof Bag, 20 Cuft fit Cars with/Without Rack

Need to fit 4 middle-aged women and all their stuff for a 5 day cabin camping trip in a midsized SUV? This is perfect! If we would have had the tools to adjust the cross bars on the roof rack, we could have fit 3 carry-on sized suitcases plus some loose items in it. As it was, we still fit two with a lot of other stuff up there! Some surprise downpours on our drive and one more on arrival to our destination proved it was indeed waterproof. The inside seams are well sealed and the fabric inside is coated. I'll probably spray it down with ScotchGuard in the future to help it out. The rain flap velcroes down very securely. Everything inside was perfectly dry when the rain finally stopped and we were able to unload. We didn't use the included lock, but it was nice to have for potential future use. It's also nice to have the extra tie down lines and door attachments in case I need to use it on a different vehicle in the future. The included roof mat wasn't the thickest, but it did the job and can be easily cut down if necessary. The best part might just be the storage bag: all accessories fit in along with the carrier! Helpful hind for getting it in: fold it in thirds, front to back, with accessories and roof mat inside, then roll it up tightly and it should fit in the bag. I'll probably only use it once or twice a year, so having it stowed away in a neat bundle is great.

The straps are strong, and even after almost two years of use, everything still looked and worked like new. Functionality: Very practical and easy to install, even if your car doesn’t have a luggage rack. The included tie-down straps and door hooks make it compatible with a wide range of vehicles. I used it for a long trip across states, and it didn’t budge once. Longevity: I bought this nearly two years ago, and it’s still in excellent condition. Bought the 20 cu ft bag to use on my 2020 Equinox for car camping. Once we figured out how to pull back the weather seal around the car door frames, fastening it without a roof rack was easy. It was only on the road for a grand total of two hours in fair weather, so I can’t speak to the weather resistance, but it stayed in place and the quality of the construction let me feel comfortable about having my stuff on the roof. Stopped once to check the straps for peace-of-mind and only needed slight tightening, just due to the items settling. For reference, here is what we were able to put in the 20 cu ft bag (see picture): (2) king sized pillows, (2) standard pillows, (1) kid sleeping bag, (1) adult sleeping bag, (1) packable blanket, (1) fleece blanket, (1) weighted blanket, (1) twin air mattress, (1) dog crate bed, (1) full laundry bag, (2) tarps, (1) 10-person instant cabin tent. It was a good investment.

Good quality and material.Easy to store. Perfect for our camping trip. Such a space saver inside the vehicle so the kids aren't cramped.

Update: We’ve had this almost two years now and it has still held up really great for us. It’s been with us on dozens of camping trips and a couple of long trips from TX to Colorado. On one of those trips, we ran into some really cold weather causing ice to accumulate on the bag, still no problems. It’s seen heavy rain and kept our gear dry. Really recommend this product, we are very happy with it still! Original: I’ve been really impressed with this! We did not have the budget for something top of the line, but wanted something heavy duty that would last us a long time. We use this for when we go camping and it fits just about all of our gear - no longer is my kiddo sitting in the back seat squished like a sardine! It is very easy to get set up and is very secure. We drive on Texas highways where we go 70-75mph and have had no issues whatsoever. It’s kept our belongings safe in the rain, and after many uses since its purchase..we’ve found that it really is very durable. My biggest concern for products like this is always issues with zippers - happy to report that so far, we’ve had zero issues with anything! Highly recommend!

I was making a move and needed the extra space so I could do it in one trip (5-hour freeway drive), and this bag was amazing!!! I almost bought one of the hard-shell roof-top carriers, but those are limited if you have bulky items. I was able to fit three suitcases, small, medium, and large, plus one of those black storage bins with the yellow lids, plus my portable room heater, plus several small boxes in the bag with room to spare. It rained on the drive, but everything was completely dry. You can see in the photo that I had additional straps, but I was being paranoid and actually didn't need them but it was more for peace of mind. The best part is that where I moved to, I have limited space, so the bag folds up really small for easy storage. It exceeded my expectations. Oh yeah, here's a tip: I also laid the bag out in my living room first and played with the suitcases and storage boxes, etc, while they were empty so I could plan what configuration would fit best. Like playing Tetris. It would have been too difficult and heavy to try and do this with the suitcases, etc filled while putting them on the roof of my SUV. I was able to maximize the space/placement and then load it on my roof. systematically.

I recently purchased this rooftop cargo carrier, in preparation for a 1,000 mile trip to Florida. It arrived in good condition, and it didn't take long to figure out the directions and strap it to the top of my car (I also bought a rubberized mat to place between the carrier and my rooftop, to protect the paint from scratches). The carrier is quite roomy, I think it fit something like 7 suitcases of varying sizes. And when strapped down tightly, it didn't produce much wind noise either (it took a little trial and error to figure out where/how to tuck some of the straps so they didn't blow in the wind and smack the roof of the car. My primary complaint concerns the front of the carrier, and how it closes. The zipper runs from one back corner up the side, across the front, then down the other side to the opposite back corner. And there's a flap that covers the zipper, with velcro to keep the flap down and the zipper protected from the elements. But the front center of the flap lacks velcro, so the wind stream coming off the top of the car lifts the flap there, and exposes the zipper. That became an issue when we drove through a heavy downpour of rain outside Daytona Beach, as the exposed zipper couldn't stop the large volume of rain from penetrating into the carrier bag itself. I wouldn't go so far as to say the bags inside were soaked, but they were certainly damp. If the makers of this product would place a velcro closure, or better yet a cinch-down strap, in the front center of this carrier, I suspect that would fix the leak issue and make it a great product.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said! Having used this product on my barless car, I cannot recommend it enough for the following: - Ease of use: it really is as simple as place it on the roof and strap it up (either to your bars or through the car doors). Simple tightening, but very secure. - Super sturdy: This carrier simply won’t let you down. It is thick and tightens to fit the load so no room for items to slip around. - Weatherproof: whilst I was unable to test the waterproof functionality, the layer inside is thick. I can see the straps absorbing rain and potentially causing problems inside the vehicle however I would be VERY surprised should the main carrier let water through. - Super portable: the carrier folds back up into its bag with ease. Cannot ask for better storage! If you’re due to go on holiday or need to carry a little more than your boot can handle, this product is second to none. Very very impressed and wish I’d have invested sooner!

Do not purchase for on the roof of your car without braces. The straps in the package do not have the same size as the straps on the cargo carrier.

J'étais à la recherche d'un toit de voiture pas trop cher afin de pouvoir traverser la France pour aller au camping ! Nous étions 7 personnes dans la voiture et donc il ne me restait aucune place dans le coffre ... mais pas non plus le budget pour m'acheter un vraie toit de coffre rigide. J'ai donc opté pour ce coffre de toit souple 580 L et comment vous dire ... je suis très agréablement surprise ! La première fois que j'ai voulue l'installer il m'a fallu un petit moment afin de bien comprendre les sens dans lequel tout devait être mis et surtout m'assurer que tout était bien serrer et fermer afin que rien ne bouge pendant le voyage. Je conseil d'ailleurs d'acheter un tapis et de le mettre en le toit et le sac afin que ce dernier ne glisse pas. Le sac a une très grande capacité de stockage ( j'ai pu y mettre au moins 4 valises , quelques sachets, affaires enfants, .... ) Il n'a pas bouger pendant le voyage ( environs 800 km sur route de ville et autoroutes allant jusqu'au 130 km/h ). Alors bien sur une fois la voiture lancée a pleine vitesse on entend un peu de bruit lié au coffre surtout si vous ne serrez pas assez le tout les sangles ou le tissus risque de claquer sur la carrosserie. Attention aussi à la pluie car s'il pleut l'eau risque de rentrer un peu au niveau des tirettes de fermetures. Mais pour le prix je suis entièrement satisfaite

Wir haben uns lange überlegt welche Art von Dachbox für uns die richtige ist. Ob faltbar ich war zunächst skeptisch oder feste Box. Jedoch hat uns überzeugt, dass sie zum einen platzsparend aufzubewahren ist, das Volumen für unsere ZWecke wirklich ideal ist. Die Handhabung ist super einfach, auch beim 1. Mal aufbauen. Sehr gut finde ich wie simpel die Befestigung ist und dass ich keine Querträger benötige obwohl eine Reling vorhanden ist - das schont den Geldbeutel. Wir haben sie bei unserem Urlaub eingesetzt und waren wirklich erstaunt, dass es wirklich wasserfest ist - Regen hatten wir auf der Hinfahrt, dass nichts verrutscht sowohl die Box als auch Inhalt nicht, also war hier meine Befürchtung völlig unbegründet. Sie ist sehr leicht, was den Transport und den Aufbau wirklich erleichert. An unserem Urlaubsort konnten wir den Luxus geniessen die Dachbox vollständig wieder zusammenzubauen ,sodass wir sie für die zwei Wochen perfekt in der Tasche lagern konnten. Spart Sprit für den Urlaubsaufenthalt und man muss sich keine GEdanken machen ob die Dachhöhe ausreicht - bei einem SUV. Da wir Geocacher sind und eine Großfamilie wird diese Box uns definitiv öfter begleiten und die Ausflüge erleichtern. Fazit: Wir sind froh uns für diese Box entschieden zu haben. Preis/Leistung - wirklich TOP. Nur zu empfehlen.
