Bindertek 3-Ring 2-Inch Premium Vinyl View Binder, Red (3EDVB2-RD)

I bought this for my 10 year old for school because it was “heavy duty”, but had to replace it after 2 months of school.

The Bindertek 3 ring 2" binder is made of good quality materials. The binder has a view pocket on the front cover where you can put information about the binder's contents. The spine has a view pocket that gives you a place to put reference information so you can easily know what the binder contains. The spine also has a large metail rimmed hole so you can stick your finger in it to retrieve the binder from a shelf. Most binders do not have this handy feature and I really like the ease of pulling the binder from a shelf. The 3 rings are D-style rings and are 2" wide. They hold a good quantity of pages and the D-rings allow the pages to flip easily. The vinyl used in making this binder is a premium and heavy duty vinyl so I think it will hold up to lots of use. There are no pockets on the inside covers, otherwise this is a great binder.

At first I wasn't sure if this binder was really a premium, but I have been comparing it with some of the binders I already have and it does seem to be a better quality than those. I tend to buy either the cheapest or middle of the road binders. The cover of this is significantly thicker and should resist warping or bending a lot better. I really like the slanted D-rings. All of my other binders have the traditional round rings. The rings open and close effortlessly. Another thing that shows how little I know about binders, is regarding the "view" description. I thought that was due to the hole in the spine of the binder. I thought that was ridiculous because all you would be able to see is the edges of the papers which would not look any different from other various binders. I had to look it up and find out that the purpose of the hole is to put your finger in to help remove the binder from the shelf or to help when carrying a particularly heavy binder. It does have the vinyl pocket on the front cover so you can insert a cover sheet. The current price is listed at $18. My first reaction is that's pretty high, but what do I know as I always go for the cheap binders! The quality is definitely higher than the ones I am used to, so perhaps the price is right on target for that.

This Bindertek 3" binder has a D-ring, meaning it will hold about 680 pages. It's solid and sturdy, and the D-rings open easily by using only one finger to press down on the lever below the bottom ring. Also, all three D-rings close easily if you simply squeeze close just one of them. The hole in the spine makes it easy to pull the binder off a shelf -- it's something I've not seen before, and if you have a lot of thick binders on a shelf, this actually is a useful feature. As a view binder, it allows for a full insert on the front cover, and a 6.25" x 1.75" insert on the spine. The spine window also has a "thumb cut out" which allows you to push up on the spine insert to change it easily if you want to. I've been frustrated when removing spines that do not have the this design, so this is a nice feature.Overall, this is a very sturdy binder that should last a long time.

Nice D ring binder with a clear plastic insert front. Holds a ream of paper comfortably, and has inside pockets for convenience. Lightweight for easy storage, also clear plastic insert on spine.Some of my favorite uses for this type of binder is family photos, scrapbooking and/or document preservation, such as diplomas.
