First Tunes on the Bagpipes: 50 Tunes for the Bagpipes and Practice Chanter (The Swan of MacQueen Pipe Tune Collection)

This booklet is printed in a very strange way. The print is tiny, and oddly, buried in the gutter of the book! This makes it very difficult to read, so I am sending it back.

Though this book includes a good selection of 50 traditional tunes for bagpipes, the layout is very disappointing. Each tune is squished hard against the spine of the booklet. The title of each song is almost buried in the spine so you have to lay the book on its side to read ONE of the two songs on the two open pages. In addition, the pages do not lay flat so it is impossible to actually read the music and play at the same time. A collection of loose-leaf pages in portrait orientation (rather than the landscape orientation used in the booklet) would be far more useful.

I agree with the previous reviews. The layout is badly designed. As I said the typeface is too small to read. And while it has a good selection of tunes , this booklet is simply impractical for actual playing. I bought it as a gift, but I am so dissatisfied, I don't feel I can offer it to the person it was intended for.

The book is around A5 in size. However the pages have been bound and typeset to close to the spine and the pages are inconsistently placed - see images.

This is not worth the price. I would say $10 would be generous. I will be sending it back.

very helpful to my chanter playing development. It's good to be able to play great tunes siml.ified for the learner.

Thought it would contain some basic instructions but it didn’t and maybe when I learn more I will understand strange page orientation
