Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Raw Beef & Chicken Meal or Mixer Cat Food Crunchy Nibs, 12 oz

We use a variety of dehydrated raw products for meals, treats and training for our dogs. Yes, I know it says this is for cats, but we use these like the other VE dog niblets. The Crunchy Mini Nibs are especially handy as pocket treats, since they are durable, they don’t crumble into dust, they have no real odor that a human notices, and they are not greasy/sticky. Easy to have some in your pocket to reward all the good dogs you meet. High quality ingredients, trusted brand, good size, and the dogs love them.

My cat - who had to go on a limited ingredient diet due to eosinophilic granuloma complex, loves this product. I will say that the packaging looks IDENTICAL for cats and dogs and my last order, I was sent the version for dogs (and I did double check that it wasn’t my mistake in ordering since they look the same). I was given a refund since it’s a non returnable item but double check your bag when it arrives. You’d think the manufacturer would change the color for the different species. That said, don’t hesitate to try it if you have a pet that needs LID. It’s expensive so you do have to just use it as a topper if you don’t have a big budget. Of course mine eats all of it off the top and then goes to the kibble when he’s desperate.

This food is so fresh that my one of my cats thinks it’s alive! Let me explain. If I give her regular kibble, she just eats it. However, when I put this freeze dried food into her bowl, she picks out a piece and then bats it around for about five minutes before pouncing on it and eating it. I find a few random pieces when cleaning, but other than that, I find it amusing and I will continue to purchase this food so she can continue to practice her hunt. My other cat is lazy and just gobbles it down without hunting or killing it first. :-)
