One Zap for Mosquitoes, Several Zaps for House Flies
If you leave the zapper on it's stand in the dark, it's good for zapping gnats and mosquitoes. It will attract them with the zapper light, but be warned, if you leave it on inside at night, it's loud and could wake you up. With this set up house flies are attracted to the light but it only stuns them for a moment. If you are around when it happens you can try and get them again. At night I heard the loud zap several times, but did not find any flies in the morning. Flies are best if you are swatting them with the zapper. They sometimes will get caught in the mesh and you can hear the fly being zapped for a bit.

Mixed feelings about this one
This fly swatter has good solid construction and charges up well…even gives a good zap to insects that get hit with it. So why the 3 star review? I bought this for help getting rid of some pesky house flies. A room with a window AC unit in my home had a slight opening in the window seal and the next thing you know there was a swarm of flies in my home. Took me some time to figure out the source and take corrective action, but I was still stuck with these flies. Ordered this zapper thinking it’s a 2 pack and also has a stay on mode, so it would be of great help. Two realizations hit me when I first began to use it. One, you have to be able to get a direct hit on the insects in order to zap them. The house flies were so quick, or maybe I was too slow, that it was mostly miss for me. Two, if I was lucky enough to corner a fly against the wall or blinds, this device did fry them dead (due to the lengthy exposure to the zap). However, if I zapped them in the air, it only knocked them unconscious for a few seconds before they were back in the air. I did leave the device on at night hoping the flies would come to it and self zap. A fly did land on it and for sure I could hear the zapping and burning of the insect, until it continued for more than several seconds. I turned the light on and sure enough the poor fly had not only landed on it but had gotten stuck and was continuously being fried. This appeared to be the only way for regular sizes house flies to be killed (ie, a prolonged zap). Maybe I was overthinking it, but I turned the zapper off, because the insect’s body was burning like an ember and I was afraid if the device was left on unsupervised and more insects became trapped on it, it could become a fire hazard. Long story short, it probably will work better on smaller insects like fruit flies or mosquitoes, but it certainly didn’t work on regular house flies or larger insects. Had better luck with a can of Raid flying insect spray.

good
I recently purchased the 2 Pack Electric Fly Swatter 2 in 1 Bug Zapper Racket & Mosquito Zapper, and I have been extremely impressed with its performance. This product truly lives up to its claims of being a powerful bug zapper, with a voltage of 4000V that effectively eliminates flying insects on contact.

Works wonders
I didn't think this was going to work because the light is only at the bottom instead of throughout the entire paddle, and I thought only the lit part did the work. I was wrong. The light attracts the bugs, the entire paddle kills them. Handle and paddle are a single unit, charging happens in the handle instead of a secondary base. It's loud. It works.
