Does this contain MSG?

No it does not contain msg , double checked the packaging and does not list it

I've bought this before but this time it was extreme!y salty...ruined the steaks i was marinating.bad batch or is this now seasoned tenderizer?

So are we mostly paying for salt and sugar?

Not quite like table sale and sugar. There are 4 ingredients to this unseasoned tenderizer: Salt, Dextrose, Bromelain, and Calcium Silicate. The first two ingredients are salt (natural tenderizer) and Dextrose is from the sugar family…but more similar to glucose sugars. Bromelain is an anti-inflammatory agent. When these ingredients are blended in the McCormick unseasoned tenderizer, they are more of a powder than granular of sat and sugar. You’re also free to add your own kind of seasoning, if desired while using this product…but if your concerns are doubling up on the salt and sugar…then I suggest monitoring the other ingredients. Always keep in mind, from the first ingredient to the last ingredient found on the package, the first has the heighest ratio, while the last has the lowest. This is an FDA label regulation when it comes to ingredients.

Per the label, Serving size 1/4 tsp. (1.1g) contains 410 mg sodium. Ingredients are listed in this order: salt, dextrose, bromelain (tenderizer), calcium silicate.

Great tenderizer

LIFETIME SUPPLY!

The "seasoned" meat tenderizers are all you can find in our local stores, and they are mostly salt. We find UN-seasoned meat tenderizers here. Thinking I was buying pure tenderizer without the salt I ordered this one. Guess what. It's mostly salt! OK, you win. My bad! I use it anyhow, but I thoroughly rinse the salt out of the meat before cooking. Hey, it's not bad at all after doing that, and it really tenderizes.

Ultimate recycler

Actually got this to stop dog from eating her poop. By sprinkle it on her food. It didn’t really work and stopped using it . We did try pineapple chunks it helped a little she became a nibbler not a chomper.
