Cut a portion of the plastic sleeve to the length desired and place it over the black rubber shifter. Apply heat. The manufacturer demonstrates with a lighter, but a heat gun or hair dryer will also work very well as demonstrated by one reviewer. The sleeve "shrink wraps" the lever quite well. No more black smudges on one's brown boots. And it looks good, better than the lever socks and latex or rubber sleeves. Can't speak to longevity yet, but the manufacturer supplies enough material for more than a dozen replacements when necessary.

Easy to install. It will yellow after a while and loosen. But works as advertised and they give you multiple to replace after some time.

So easy to apply! Just cut to size with scissors. They give you lots of shrink wrap, too! I used a heat gun to shrink it, although a good hot hair dryer or cigarette lighter would work fine too. Well worth the money; now my boots and shoes will stay cleaner!
