This was pretty easy to set up. There were picture instructions that matches up pretty well. The pump looked slightly different than in the instructions but it was easy to figure out how to connect it the same way. All pieces were included (tip: I thought the hose is missing but it was coiled up in the top compartment). Now that it is all set up, everything seems to function well! The water is pumped up to the top then trickles down into each section. I checked all the holes, and the water is evenly distributed leaving now dry gaps. I started my seeds in the pods it came with, but I kept them in trays until I knew their roots were long enough to reach the water. This thing can hold 30 plants which is amazing! I will use it to grow herbs and greens indoors. One thing I wish is that the base of this looked a little more decorative. I think I will put it inside a large decorative pot so that it looks prettier. The device itself doesn't have any electronic timers or settings, but it does come with a smart plug. You can connect the smart plug you an app and set timers for the water pump to turn on and off.

I was so excited about this product but that quickly turned to disappointment. This was priced a little higher than some other models, so I thought that would mean better quality. First of all, it does not come with instructions, which you will also read in other reviews. I spent an hour looking for and watching videos. The top does not fit into the base unless you use enough force almost to break it. Once I had everything assembled and had my seeds planted, I plugged in the unit, and the water did get pumped up to the compartments, but only about 1 mm, not enough to actually touch the plants. I let it run for about an hour to see if the water level would come up, but it didn't. You must have Alexa to use the smart plug, otherwise you have to manually unlug the unit when you want the water to stop flowing, and plug it back it when you want to pump more water. I have had cheaper units that had self timers. I'm surprised that this one does not. Useless, disappointing, and a huge waste of time.

We just incorporated this hydroponic kit into our home to grow larger plants that the smaller hydroponic kits with lights cannot grow. So far i am pleasantly surprised as this kit is much more inclusive and higher quality but it was similar in size. It is super easy to install and build, it came with instructions but i did not find them necessary. Function wise it allows me to grow lettuce which was impossible in the smaller units and other larger herbs. I believe that within some time this kit will ultimately pay for itself all while providing pesticide free and organic produce. Love it and cant wait to share more insight as I learn some tricks.

Super easy to set up and perfect for small spaces. The LED lights work really well, and the plants look healthy. I’m very happy with the results. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to love this planter. After I put it together and added water, to see how well the cups would get watered. No way will the water reach the grow cups. So I added a wick in each cup to bring the water in contact with the grow plug. That finally did the trick. The light source is difficult to do as well. In front of a window only one side gets the sun so it must be turned every day. I had a tri pod source and that seems to be hitting most of the cups but not all. I will see how this works after I see any growth.

Do not buy. Despite the bad reviews I decided to give it a try. Nothing grows. The value for the money is zero: it's not easy to clean. The quality is low with the pump and it's doesn't get enough water throughout it all to grow anything. It's small in height. Plants started growing and only last 2 days before they died off. Waste of time and money.

This summer have gotten into indoor hydrophonic planting. This is a good starter product. Definitely revommend it

I planted all the slots- a few did well but it is difficult to light it properly indoors. It would probably work better out doors but this is Texas in the summer. The instructions sucked so I could have done something wrong since I was winging it.
