My front load hE machine recommends liquid detergent. I'm wondering if these pods should go directly into the washer?

Jennifer, for all machines, remove clothing or other items from the washer. Open one pouch of OxiClean™ Washing Machine Cleaner, and pour into the washer drum. Note: Do not add any detergent to this cycle. Select the Clean Washer Cycle. Note: If your washer does not have a Clean Washer Cycle, add OxiClean™ Washing Machine Cleaner to drum and run a normal cycle using hot water. Start the machine. After cycle is complete, wipe any residue that may be left behind with a towel, including on drum, door, rubber gaskets, and seals. Leave the door open to allow better ventilation.

When I put powder directly in the drum it falls through the holes when the drum turns, before the water starts filling. Help?

That's the point. You want the powder to go in the holes. That's where the dirt and grime build up is.

How is this thing different from the powder in the regular Oxiclean Stain Remover tub?

Ingredients for the Washing Machine Cleaner are identical to the regular stain remover except it has an added "Dispersing agent". Not sure on the ratios. So there is a difference, but I'm not sure how necessary it is. Sodium carbonate - Builder Sodium carbonate peroxide - Oxygen bleach C12-15 alcohols ethoxylated - Surfactant Sodium chloride - Builder C.I. Pigment Blue 15:1 - Colorant Acrylic acid homopolymer - Dispersing agent

Removed moldy smell...

Awesome stuff. I have an older top load washer and it came with a moldy smell. Didn't affect the clothes but it bothered me so I tried this stuff and it worked great. It's very effective n leaves no odor or residue. Easy to use just throw it in the washer. Clean washer again!!!

I believe this product is not useful! it has damaged my washing machine, leaving white marks.

Worked so well for me that our drain clogged up (a good thing)

The product worked so well for me that it spurred out chunks of lint whatever else nasty that was inside our washing machine, which eventually clogged our drain pipe. I’m happy the fix the drain outside knowing that my washing machine is now cleaner inside.

Actually worked

This product actually helped me get rid of persistent odour in my HE washing machine. The instructions say to use it once per week for 3 weeks for existing odour, but it actually was very much improved after two uses. I will keep using it in future to prevent future build-ups.
