I do a 2-mile brisk daily walk on a gravel road, in a part of the country that remains snow-covered for several months of the Winter. When you plow a gravel road, you don't scrape the snow all the way down to bare gravel -- you leave behind a packed-snow driving surface. With temperature changes and sun, icy spots form -- sometimes huge sheets of pure ice. With these spikes, I have never fallen or even slipped a little. The teeth don't bend, and they bite in confidently. I have used them on trails with patches of dirt (roots, rocks) mixed in with snow and ice, and they do great. They don't squirm on my shoes and feel very confident. The weak spot is the chain-links joining the spiked plates. I have had a couple links "open up" leaving the chains loose and jangly. I bent them back with pliers. They held for several more months but recently some of the horseshoe-shaped links have completely broken. I repaired them with wire but am getting tired of making the repairs. So I'm calling them done at this point. At 2 miles a day and about 6 total months of walking (last year plus this year so far) that gives approximately a 350-mile lifespan. In contrast, my partner has the "name brand" spikes which cost about 4 times (no kidding) as much. She's had them for years and they show no sign of giving out. The chain links are clearly more burly looking. They will probably last forever. This seems like a very fair price vs. durability compromise, so I'm overall happy with this product. It is great for just-in-case or occasional use, but I am replacing them with the "name brand" ones because I plan many more years of walking. I have the XL spikes and I use them on insulated Columbia snow boots (size 10) and uninsulated Muck boots, (size 9). The spikes install easily and don't slip once installed. The included nylon straps are awkward and seem unnecessary; I have never used them. If I try to use them on my regular shoes, the metal/chain portion is a bit larger than the sole so they don't fit as snugly -- but will work okay.

I bought these ahead of a backpacking trip when the forecast showed snow likely. As it turns out, 3 inches of the fluffy white stuff fell while I slept. These made the hike out so much safer and easier. They fit my boots (Columbia Redmonds, size 12) perfectly. The velcro straps did not fit so well, but weren't needed (I had zero slippage or shifting). The terrain (under the snow) was mostly rocks, roots and mud and these helped a LOT with the up/downhill sections. My only gripe is that in certain spots (where the ground was soft under the snow), I'd get some pretty big clumps of compacted snow jammed in the spikes. Usually a quick stomp on a rock/root or smacking my boot against a tree dislodged those clumps. Every once in a while, I need to dig them out with a stick or the tip of a trekking pole.

I live in the mountains of NE Washington and we have 2-4 inches of ice under 2-4 feet of snow. I use these when I go outside to work and feed the animals. No matter how deep the snow, these tend to stay on my shoes, are easy to clean the barnyard muck off of by rinsing with a hose. They are not for walking around on concrete or home flooring but they certainly out perform every other type or brand I’ve tried. W. W.

Bought these for walking the dog. Used them every day for about a month while walking about a mile to two miles a day. The good. They work extremely well and held up very well. If you are walking in snow or on ice these things are amazing. The not so good. I was walking on mixed surfaces. Asphalt, Cement, and snow and ice. These spikes are so aggressive that you can feel them through the boot. The sole of my boots are more like sneakers and are soft compared to a hard sole boot. One of the spike plates turned sideways and went through my boot! If you want something for crossing a glacier or frozen lake, these would be awesome. Looking for something to walk around the neighborhood, not so much.

These crampons are spectacular on ice - a real life saver. I wear a size 9 / Eur 42 Muck boot and the XL size crampon is a perfect very tight snug fit. They take some effort to stretch across the boot toe and heal but wow they sure do stay in place - These big guys aren't going to fall off ever. Well made - very happy.

I like the color, easy to differentiate from others around. Spikes are nice and thick, no worries about them bending. Great grip on icy surfaces. Good deal for what they are. Not very conspicuous, but you shouldn't expect them to be.

If you need occasional, easy on and easy off your boot or shoe that provides the best solution for walking on ice - this is for you. If you walk regularly, they only last about 30 days. In 30 days about half the chains will break. I tried two pairs and had the same result with both. So everyday walker on trails of ice? Look elsewhere unless you want to buy a pair every month.

Bought these for a trip to Iceland. They fit nice over my size 10.5 boot and were easy to figure out. Handled really well in ice and snow. Wore them on a mountain and glacier hike in January. Highly recommend!

新品が正常に使えることは当然であり、本来のレビューと言うのは数年経ってからの持続性と信頼度に大きく依存すると思っています。 さてこの商品ですが、まずアイゼンの爪が一箇所逆向きに取り付けられていました。 試しに装着したら何故かしっくり履けない。 ？と思いよく見ると爪が逆向きに付いているではないですか。 流石中国クオリティ。 こんなことでは驚きません。 冷静にペンチで鎖を広げ爪を取り外し正常の向きに付け替えます。 その際かなり力を要しました。 これは鎖部分はかなりの耐久性を持つ可能性を感じました。 しかし鎖がゴム部分にかけられている部分が逆に弱点になる可能性を感じました。 鎖部分が壊れるのは予想がつき、適当に自己で修理は可能なのですが、ゴムが千切れてしまうのは致命的です。 さて使い始めたばかりですので、現在は問題はありませんが、どの程度持つでしょうか。 と言うわけで爪の件をマイナスして星は3つとさせていただきます。
