Did you guys get actual Yukon potatoes because these look like russets (what I received)

I wrote seller asking what the two bags $36 were because they were definitely NOT Yukon Gold. They were 1 to 1-1/2inch potatoes dark brown thicker skinned. They didn't chit (after 3wks) and I planted anyway. In ground 6wks NOTHING but little rotting potatoes.

Will these potatoes reseed for the next season once grown out

Potentially, yes--so if you get four eyes, which you plant AND they all grow, successfully, then you could use one of the potatoes as reseed for next year. The challenge is preserving that potato till next year...

Can I plant these now in zone 6?

Potatoes harvest at 90-110 days and require 10-14 hrs sunlight and temps 65-75*F. You can put in the ground, but either mice/rats/vermin will nibble over winter ruining a crop, they can freeze then rot in spring. Unless planting in a heated greenhouse, you likely will not have success.

What kind of potatoes can i plant in oct im va

I am in Calif so frost is not an issue. last fall I planted potatoes, garlic and fava beans which all did well thru the rains. I think potatoes could survive under snow (if you get snow) check with locals in your area or on youtube
