Like a lot of people, I suffer terribly with cold hands and cold feet. As my husband and I are keen walkers, this can be a real issue in the winter as the pain in walking boots can be quite severe. First thing to note is that each pair is individually wrapped. As I suffer much worse on one foot I decided to try only one foot heater and save the second one in the packet for the next day. Unfortunately the heat within them is activated as soon as you open the packet so both need to be used at once and you cannot save the second one. The second thing to note is that they are like big plasters that you remove the backing and stick to your socks. They are supposed to be positioned under the toes within your boots/shoes. However, after a couple of hours of heat, the chemical inside tends to harden and I found them slightly uncomfortable under my toes after a good (5+ hour) walk. For this reason I decided the next time to try putting them on top of my toes. I found this to be much more beneficial for both heating the toes and for comfort factor - now I don’t feel them, I just feel the warmth. Heat wise - they will never get as hot as a rechargeable hand warmer but they are hot/warm enough for a good 8 hours (the max I have tested them). Very portable, convenient and easy to use. I keep a pouch in my car and a set in my walking boots so I’ve always got one when I need them. They can easily be used in gloves as a hand warmer but the ones specifically for hands are usually a cheaper option. I bought these on offer and they have helped to eliminate painful walks. Very happy with the purchase and worth the 5 stars I’ve awarded.

Great product. Kept my feet warm in winter

Bought these to go on a ski trip. They were used in temperatures down to -10 degrees centigrade. I used them in my boots and gloves/coat and they did a reasonable job. They aren’t a radiator and they aren’t miraculous, but they take the edge off. I found them to be effective at this standard for around 6 hours or so. After this either I had just become used to them or they were not giving off heat as efficiently.

Mixed bag of tricks. Some packs work as described however. Some don't work at all. Last maybe 6 hours not 8 as described but on a sliding scale. By hour 5 there is 75% less heat. By hour 6 the heat is negligible. That's assuming your got a pack that works? My own experience maybe half work, half don't work at all. Very poor quality checks if at all. Anybody come across something better more efficient I'd love to know. Tip. if you buy these what is not explained is when you peel back the protected paper of the heat pad. Shake vigorously for a minute, leave exposed to the air for a minute for the chemicals to get to work then attach to sock. That way the pad will work at its optimum. Tip. Don't bother with electric socks. To expensive, to hot, to thick, poorly designed, don't last waste of money.

it does what it says on the packet brilliantly

I ordered these for a family trip to Lapland where the temperature was around -14 Celsius (approx 6 degrees Fahrenheit). They are a good value multi-pack and the heat pads are individually wrapped in pairs which is handy if you need to spread them between bags. They don't activate until you open the individual pack and expose the pads to air. You need to do this approx 10 to 15 minutes before you wish to put them on/go out as this gives them time to heat up. If you don't allow this warm up time and simply put your boots on immediately then they won't get enough air to activate fully. So once they are warm you take off the adhesive cover and stick the pad to the toes of your socks before putting your boots on and they will remain warm for approx 8 hours or so. You can feel them in your boots as you walk (obviously) but it wasn't uncomfortable and our toes didn't suffer from the cold. I'd say it's a gradual warming heat rather than a super hot heat so don't expect boiling hot feet. Also if your boots aren't great at insulating then you will still get cold toes! We also used them on our children's feet (aged 3 & 6) and they didn't complain at all about either cold feet or discomfort from having something stuck to their socks. At the end of the day you peel them off your socks and can just throw them away in the bin. There is no mess. Overall I'm very glad we had them and would buy them again.

These made popsicle toes a thing of the past for our daughter in law who stands at her booth in the artisan markets here in frozen northern Sweden. They are a life saver. Don't hesitate.

Bought this to use instead electric feet warmers which are a bit cumbersome. Not too bad, considering it was rather cold night. Feet won’t really feel toasty warm, but you won’t freeze them off. Lasted 5+ hours, were still hot when I finally took them off.

I bought these to use when diving in cold waters, hoping my feet would not get cold during the surface interval. I had a thin liner sock, the foot warmer and then a thick woolen sock over. I was disappointed when I felt little or no difference when wearing the foot warmer. When removing them they felt warm to the skin but to little to make a difference.
