Even though we had concerns when we unpacked the beam, the seller quickly got in touch with us to address our concerns. After finding out most of our concerns were normal for the beam we allowed our daughter to practice on it. We had her start out with basics until she was able to get a good feel for the beam and now she is practicing her cartwheels, handstands, and turns without any issues. Although I was disappointed upon first opening and having my daughter try the beam, I am glad we were able to speak with Charlotte who was able to answer our concerns. The beam is a wonderful purchase. Ours just needed some time to straighten out/align with the other section (possibly a packaging issue) which it did within a few days of use. My daughter ( 7 years old and 56 pounds) feels very confident using this beam and loves how soft it is. It is easy for her to fold up and put away when she is not practicing and sturdy enough for her to work on her skills.

My daughter is a 15 year old gymnast and this is exactly what we were looking for-it’s set up in our living room on hard wood floor. It’s a great practice beam, doesn’t scuff my floor, doesn’t wobble, strong outer fabric. I thought the fact that it folds in half and has only a piece of velcro to keep it together when open would be a problem but it’s really not. Once it’s opened flat on the ground it’s pretty secure. It’s cute that it has its own carry bag with straps so gymnast can literally take it anywhere pretty easily. The only thing that was kind of a bummer is that it got delayed getting to my house, and It looks like it had a bumpy ride lol. Some of the corners packaging had torn off and the cover itself had been scuffed from being tossed around truck to truck (I’m guessing), but i hand washed those scuff marks pretty much all out of the cover. Not even a big deal tho as the beam hasn’t moved from the floor, she practices on it daily. She loves it.

We just got this for my 7 yo daughter for Christmas and she loves it! It’s easy for her to setup and put away and is sturdy. The one thing I’m not happy about is it is leaving a brown stain on her new gymnastics mat 🙁🙁🙁. Please help!

For pass 2 years my daughter has been taking gymnastics and loves the sport I purchased this balance beam as means of a way to practice at home she loves this balance beam . She’s spent about 2 hours a day practicing on this beam since it arrived it’s still in great shape. love the carrying bag it came in the construction and durability of this product is amazing ... came surprisingly quick light weight and easy to travel withWorth every penny !

The beam looks great and I am pleased that both sections are permanently attached. However, my daughter is 85lbs, and when she steps on the beam, it definitely compresses down more than we would like, especially when she is going into a back walk over or cartwheel.....it smooshes alot where the sections meet. We just hope it will hold up.

This was purchased for a 135-pound retired gymnast to use at home for fun. Prior to purchasing, we asked the manufacturer if the beam would support a 135 pound adult, and they replied that it would (see the Q&A section above, that was us). Further, we noticed that there was only one negative review, complaining about lack of firmness for an 85-lb athlete, to which the manufacturer replied, "Our male coaches in the gym, who weigh over 160 lbs., put this beam through the ringer before it went to market." They also offered a full refund (without need of return) to the customer who complained. So, I felt confident that the manufacturer was sure of its claim to support this weight.NOT SO. When the 135-lb adult stepped on it, it sank beneath her feet. She attempted a pirouette on one toe, and her foot sank in so deeply that she could not rotate (dangerous to knees and ankles!!!). She attempted one jump, and sank in so deeply on take-off that the "jump" became a hop. There is NO WAY this beam is manufactured to support upwards of 160 lbs.Second, it had an awful smell. As soon as we unwrapped it, our living room was filled with such a strong ammonia smell that it was as if a cat had urinated all over the place. My wife's eyes were burning, and I had to leave the room. We did the above weight test with all the windows open, and then immediately repackaged it for return.If this were honestly marketed in terms of the weight limit, I'd give it 3 stars (because of the awful smell). But given that the manufacturer has repeatedly insisted that it's good to 160 lbs, and it is NOWHERE NEAR that firm, I'm giving in 1. Complete disappointment.

This balance beam is everything we hoped for. A really solid piece of equipment and definitely a huge step-up from previous home beams we’ve had. The core is firm, sturdy and strong and has the perfect height and width to simulate a real beam The suede material provides the “grippiness” necessary for pivots, jumps, handsprings, cartwheels, and walkovers. My daughter, an aspiring gymnast, spends hours on it every day, and within a week, her skills have improved tremendously. I love the beautiful carry bag as well. Definitely worth the money.

I spent a nice amount of time looking for balance beams that would provide competition level practice, yet be safe for my daughter, who’s been taking gymnastics for 2 years now. I tried another brand on Amazon because it was a little less money, but after 2 days of use, my daughter asked me to return it. It was mushy and just 2 inches off the floor - really just a toy. I then ordered this balance beams and as soon as we took it out of the box, the difference was as clear as day. Really firm and strong and 4 inches off the ground! My daughter loves it and now her friends do to! This is a great gymnastics balance beam and I definitely can recommend it without hesitation.
