Dell FR016 DW1397 Wireless Laptop/Notebook Adapter

So I'm actually mad at myself on this one. The product itself arrived on time and it was working. My biggest issue is that I have a notebook that takes a manufacturers card only even tho they are the same part. I wish the seller & manufacturer of the notebook at least had a warning about this. So I wasted a few bucks. I gave it to a friend and it is working just fine.

Worked as expected

Mom's NIC had totally died. Easy replacement, total time less than ten minutes to being on the Internet. Good product, got an extra one just in case any of the other Dells want to crap out.

Removed , installed, easy as pie! Had to uninstall old driver, (make a copy if you need to) restarted and new driver installed automatically. Might be the easiest thing I've done to this laptop. :)

Turns out this didn't really fit my computer for wireless. I was going by what Dell said it to be. I would ask a professional at a computer store before trying to figure it out online again.

This is a great little item and works well. Just ensure you download the driver for it. Not all computers have the driver already installed - especially after a full system format.

Thought replacing this would help get my laptop Wi-Fi. I did not do any help.

Had a Atheros AR5B95 in my Acer Aspire 5250, which prevented Ubuntu from booting. Replaced it with the Dell FR016 DW1397 and now I am able to Dual boot with no issue.
