Is this pocket sized or normal?

The product dimensions are 3.19 x 8 x 12.25 inches. These are normal size, not pocket sized.

can you throw it in the water, at the beach? Does it resist water?

It’s typical Nerf foam so you can use at the beach and can get wet but I would not submerge it for a long period of time. It is not waterproof.
