Digital Photo Frame, APESIN 15.4 inch 1440 x 900 Pixels HD Screen(Black)

No fluff. Nuts and bolts review. I've been in the computer/electronics business for 22 years. I also own a computer repair shop as well.First product arrived. It would stay powered on anywhere from 2-10 mins and then make a "clink" sound and turn itself off. I tried everything, including, changing SD cards, file formats, etc,etc,etc...to no avail. Obvious it was defective right out of the box. It happens. I chatted with Amazon online and they got another product to me in 2 days. Great service from Amazon.The product that they sent in exchange for the defective one:Pros:1) Nice picture, no blueish tints or otherwise and pictures look decent2) Plays videos smoothly3) Remote works.Cons:1) To view properly you MUST be in front of the unit, although side viewing is not bad, BUT if the Picture frame is above or below your eye level height, then the picture will be dark, obviously a sign of an inexpensive screen(hence the cheaper price). I.E.-- since we would view it in the living room, I placed it directly in front of our recliners beneath the TV at our eye level when sitting down, AND put something under the back hinge to lean it forward a little more. It is then viewable decently.2) To use the remote, you must hold the remote directly in front of the unit and press buttons like you mean it.3) Sometimes, it gets stuck on pics(no, they are not too large in file size, etc.), it just simply gets stuck. I.E.-- Last nite, the first nite, I had to unplug it twice and and play with the remote several times, then it finally got started up again.4) I have little confidence this unit will last very long, but for the price, it makes it worth it as long as it doesn't randomly turn itself off, which, btw, the replacement unit did not turn itself off. It ran for the entire day, motion or no motion detection.5) I see no way to control motion detection settings or not anywhere in the menu, setup, etc.6) People mention brightness settings on here. BE AWARE, the units that were sent me had NO BRIGHTNESS settings. but it was bright enough to view, so I am not complaining.In Summary, yes, it is flimsy and cheap, has a decent screen if you can position it where you plan to view it properly, so your media is visible and not dark. you will find yourself placing it lower or at eye level where you plan to view. Remote is mickey mouse, but works. It is just like the little remotes that come with led figurines and similar items from geek.com or wish.com from china. If you don't want to spend $200+ or close, then you wont have too big of a problem with this unit once you have played with it enough to somewhat figure out how to use it, since the user manual is generic and no help at all. I can't speak to its longevity since I just purchased. Good luck!

I purchased this Apesin 15.4 inch Digital Photo Frame to display my collection of the digital photos. The frame automatically turns on when power adaptor is plugged into the electrical outlet! The instruction supplied refers to Off/ON switch on page 8, item 3 “Switch the OFF/ON key on the side of the digital frame to power ON/OFF.” But there is no OFF/ON switch anywhere on the back, sides or the front of the frame or any indication of such a thing in the instruction on page 5. THE INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT MATCH THE PRODUCT? At the bottom of the page 5 of instruction it says in bold letters: Due to production improvements, appliance may differ slightly from the diagram shown…… The diagram on page 5 is accurate reflection of the “appliance”, but the user instructions item 3 on page 8 is not. If you are sincere and take pride in your products, your organization must be robust enough to accurately reflect reality of the product in the instructions provided.

UPDATED REVIEW: After my initial comment and return of the product,the seller reached out to me to remedy the problem. I now have a frame that properly displays all my photos.I love it and the diligence on behalf of the seller to remedy the issue was outstanding! I will order from this seller again because of their stellar customer service. Also, about this digital frame, the quality and display of the photos is making me feel like I'm back on vacation. It is a joy to relive my vacation through the photos. It was totally worth adjusting the photos online. Follow the instructions and you'll have great photos to remind you of your vacations!I now have changed my rating to 5 stars!Original Post: Instructions said I had to manually manipulate all photos, on a computer, so that they appeared upright bc this frame doesn'thave capability to adjust/rotate.....so I spent 2 hours on a computer doing just that but they STILL appear sideways in the photo frame. What a complete waste of time. This will be going back to Amazon.

While reviewing everything on the memory card via a computer every picture and video displays as they should but on this awful unit some pictures display sideways, many do not fill the screen, and this goes for videos also. Turning my head 90 degrees to view isn't the answer. I thought this unit would cycle through everything on the card but videos only play when they are selected and pictures the same. I added more pictures and videos and none would even show until I removed the sd card, unplugged the unit then put the card back in and plugged the unit back in. Computers don't work this way.The remote is awful, delays when pushing buttons and in man instances nothing happens unless you're directly in front of the unit. The setup menu is skimpy. This unit would come on at different times for no reason at all, and scheduled times would not.Do not buy

This is a very basic frame that shows pictures that are formatted properly very nicely. I'm not happy that there were no instructions. I have tried to set the date manually and with the remote but it won't save the month and day. One pleasant surprise for me was that it can play Flac music files. If I can't get the date problem fixed it will probably get returned.

I am very happy with the photo frame. It has a large clear image and works very well with SD cards. I just plug the card in and it reads it. You can change the view rate as well as many other options. I would recommend this photo frame.

Frame ok. Good color. Can’t set photos to show full screen or create a “shuffle” of items on flash drive. And only option for clock is military time
