I am out off many times by books that have a lot of filler. Mike gives it to you straight. He gives up the gold and you can tell that he wants you to succeed. Well written, simple to follow hand holding.

I purchased this to add to our classes a couple of days a week at the karate studio. They are super easy to add in, only taking a few minutes. The kids have been engaged with the lessons and are all ready to give their input. I’ve actually had a few kids come up to me and mention they like that we have added in the character lessons. I’m sure the parents appreciate it as well.

A good, solid, workmanlike treatment of the subject. Mike Massie has very clearly given careful study to martial arts character education, and has provided a sensible, accessible guide. He includes plenty of suggestions for effective implementation, as well. He offers a systematic approach to instruction in this area, as opposed to the more "scattershot" methods usually employed in martial arts schools.

This book is a quick, easy read. It is filled with invaluable lessons to bring to a martial arts class. This is an excellent resource for instructors looking to add character development lessons to their dojo.

It's a great ebook, it re-affirmed what I have been teaching and gave me some info for new idea's. Mr. Massie is the real deal a true martial artist of the highest level when it comes to talking about developing character in our students.He has been through a lot of trial and error in building his martial arts business and his experience that he shares can help you.Give him a try he offers a lot of free materials that you can read, study and learn from.Hajime!

I opened my own martial arts school three years ago, and until I got this book, my character education curriculum wasn't very well thought out. This book has given me a concrete way to teach character to my young students. I'm only into week 5 so far, and already I'm a firm believer. It's so easy to follow and perfect for my kids class. The kids LOVE the mat chats - no joke, I overhead a kid say, "This is my favorite part of class!" Thank you, Mr. Massie!

This book lays out a detailed step-by-step curriculum for a character-education curriculum suitable for elementary-school aged kids. There's a pretty consistent formula to the lessons, so can use it as-is, or adapt it to your audience (emphasizing different character values, or simplifying the language for younger kids).

This was it. This is what ties it all together. Without a simple, time tested character development program, it will be hard to run a profitable martial arts business. This book is great to review previous lessons.I enjoyed the way it was laid out generally,however I felt there was a lot of needless repetition.

I'm really pleased with this purchase and will buy all of Mr Massie's other books too! It has all the information required to help with children's classes, with a clear path to follow and a lot of detail, it is exactly the book I needed to read.

This is so clearly laid out and easy to follow. I am so looking forward to the restructuring and implementation of my new teaching program next term, incorporating these lessons!

I've been teaching kids martial arts for 14 years and was looking for ideas to broaden the scope of what we cover in class. This looked good and it is. Buy it.
