Very good door, not perfect, glad I bought it
I knew going in that this might be a tight fit for my back door and I was right. My door was just slightly smaller than the minimum height recommended. The track on my door was about 1/8-1/4 inch too high so I had to get my angle grinder and cut off about 1/4 inch from the top piece. Easy enough. After that it fit perfect. If your door is within spec this should be pretty much plug and play for you. Some small issues I experienced: 1. the bolts that hold the 2 pieces together aren't flat so they create a small gap when you put the weather stripping over them. Would have been better to use counter sink bolts. 2. I bought the medium size door and it works great for my cats and terrier, but not my chihuahua. The bottom of the door is about 4-6 inches off the ground and he's just too short to get over it. Something to keep in mind if you have a short dog. I'm going to use something for steps or maybe put some kind of ramp there for him. 3. My door is severely out of square so there was a pretty big gap between the weather strip and my door. I had to use a dremel and sand off quite a bit of weather strip near the top and down towards the middle to get it flush w/ the door. I was hoping to be able to find some weather strip that wasn't so dense and would compress easily but didn't have any luck at walmart or lowes. Wasn't too bad but there was quite a bit of cleanup after. Unless your door is perfectly square you might run into a similar issue. 4. No matter how hard I try there's just no way for me to get the weather strip close/tight enough to close all the gaps around the edges. Not a big deal in the spring/fall, but could be more of a big deal in the middle of summer/winter. Right now for me (January 2023 in Cali) it's not too bad but I can still feel a very slight draft of cold air. If you live somewhere where there's extreme cold you might be impacted more. Those were the biggest issues for me. Other than that the door is easy enough to install and my cats love it. Funny enough, my terrier still doesn't know he can let himself out/in, but my cats learned almost right away. Seems like my chihuahua knows how to use it but he's just too short. And I love it because now I don't have to leave the door open anymore, which will help keep the bugs (especially mosquitos!) out. Not sure what I'm going to do this summer. I like to keep my window open as much as possible and use the AC as little as possible, so I might have to keep switching it between the screen track and glass door track. I didn't test it out on the screen track so I'm hoping it'll even fit there, I'll find out soon enough. Overall, glad I got it, price wasn't too bad, easy enough for me to modify to get it to fit, would recommend. Oh and no drilling too so that was a plus.

This improved the cat's life and mine too! Depending on your door it might be a bit of a project.
It does the major things I bought this for. It's easy to install and removable. I have to take it out regularly to get things in and out of my balcony storage. Even though the cat flap didn't come in the color I wanted the apartments haven't complained and the white looks good enough for me. When I remove and put back the panel one or both corner pieces on the top usually pop off. Not a big deal. What is actually worth noting is that there isn't a way to seal the part that adjusts at the top next to the door. To actually seal this would probably mean putting material in that wouldn't allow me to remove the panel. If your door opening is big enough to not need to remove the panel regularly you can solve this. I'm just hoping not too many tree roaches find their way through that gap once winter passes! The lack of a functional locking/sealing solution is somewhat of an issue but you can probably figure out a solution. The lock provided and people's suggestion to put a wooden board down would work on every other sliding glass door I've seen but mine is installed with the sliding pane on the outside. If there was a lock that pulled the panel and door together they would actually seal, which ar a lot of the complaints. Maybe you could include plates that could be installed to bridge the gap between standard sliding door thickness and your thinner flap door. This would give people the ability to choose their own locks. My apt complex is great but they're only doing emergency maintenance right now. A missing sliding door wheel isn't an emergency when the door will lock without the flap insert so I have had time to think of a solution. If the doors were flush at one point this would be easier. Yes to cleaning your door where it overlaps. You'll have to uninstall the flap panel to clean later. Doable but easier to take care of first! I'm going to put some pretty window film on mine for added privacy. The cat and I are happy we have this. Just know that, depending on your door, it might be a bit of a project. Enjoy!

You get what you pay for, and better once you get some additional items
It seems to me that everyone has forgotten the saying, "You get what you Pay for". It seems these days we expect to get more than we pay for, and when we do not we complain. First of all, for me I did not have any issues installing the insert. I followed the instructions and had no issues. Of course my sliding door is standard. So this product worked great as it was designed for a standard sliding glass patio door. I spent an additional 20.00 at the hardware store. Got some white duct tape and 20 feet of foam rubber door stripping. The reason is, it only comes with one 10 ft strip. If your standard storm sliding glass patio door is like mine, the weather stripping runs all around the door, but not on the inside, but more on the sides of the door. Because of this, where the door meets the part of the frame were the studs lay behind there is no weather stripping. So, when I slid the insert in against the stud part of the frame it left an air gap, even though it is very, very narrow, more like 1.5 CM. It is enough to allow the winter air to come through. Also, the weather strip that comes with it to place along the side were the sliding door will now meet the insert, it was very narrow and thin to where you could see light coming through. So, I got two 10 ft strips of 1.25 in wide x 7/16 in thick and placed one strip were the insert meets the portion where it meets the frame against the stud, and the other on the door were it meets the insert. This sealed the Insert from the outside. I also got some command type lock strips, this was because my storm sliding door is 1.5 in wide and the insert is only 3/4th of an inch. The measurements in the products description is incorrect as it being 1.9 inches. Because of this it would move forward and backward, the whole insert that is. So I used the lock strips at the top of the insert to keep it from sliding. Then the Foam insulation strips I added keep the rest of it in place. After all this, the product still will not be air tight. Mainly do to the insert being only 3/4 inch thick in a storm door frame of 1.9. So, I got some white duct tape to seal off the gap at the top. Then were the to parts of the insert meet, there is a very small air gap, so I used a little of the tape to seal it. After all the additional steps, and 20 dollars it works great! It may sound complicated, but it was not. Anyone who has done any DIY door or window work will find my additional steps on weather proofing very simple.

Good quality and easy to install.
This door wall is good quality and easy to use. The adjustable height makes it perfect for a door wall. This size easily fits my 22 lbs door.

Terrific door, nice quality, installed in 15 minutes with a little frost guard upgrade.
I am very happy that I went with the Ideal Pet Products small door for our slider. I did install it with ease and made a couple of changes that I want to share to help others who can save some cash with this door for as the most reasonable I could find. I used the insulation that came with the door on the opposite side that butts into the frame of my slider. I went to home depot and picked up a thicker and wider foam for adhering to the slider door edge to close against the pet door frame. Works much better, totally no gap at all, most of all no draft. As for the lock, don't bother to use it. In its place I cut a broom stick to my open channel dimension and snuggly fits right in at the bottom of the frame and holds the sliding door tightly against the pet door frame. Perfect, easy to open the slider when needed, just lift out the broom stick and open while the pet door stays in position all secured. The pet door is excellent, very nice quality pet door, great looking glass, and the frame looks great, I went with the mil, aluminum selection as my slider is brown, and white wouldn't work but mil looks terrific. I find this pet door very Professional, not cheap. Just do the additional frost seal upgrade and saw off a broom stick handle to fit the rail holding the sidetracked and your good to go. As for the dog, she's 3 lbs. Only a puppy but very curious. The first time through the door we helped her. The second time through we coach her with a treat, took a long time, but now she been poking her head at it all day. Won't be long as she loves to go on the deck. Hopefully we can move her pee pad tray out there and eliminate it in th house. Good luck, hope this helps you decide on your dog or cat door purchase option.

Works good in a pinch, but you can upgrade the X-Large version (If you have a medium sized dog)
Purchased this because I ended up in a situation where I was unable to let my dog out during lunch and wanted to give him the freedom to go inside and out as he pleased, but without doing any damage to a home I do not own (I am renting) This product works as advertised but there are a lot of catches, the weather stripping that comes within the box is absolute garbage and you're better off getting your own lining as you will need a large amount (at least I did) to ensure an airtight seal. I'd also recommend running some thermal tape along the outline once it's popped in the frame, as even with the stripping around it you will never have a perfect, airtight seal. The biggest flaw in this product I believe is both the lack of durability in the dog door, and the fact that the dog door isn't upgradeable with parts supplied by Ideal Pet. I have, however found an amazing solution to the problem I was having with the dog door that comes with this (Was beginning to warp after 6 months, and the magnets are extremely weak so anytime it was remotely windy the door would blow inside along with the cold air) I purchased the Extra-Large version of this despite the fact that my dog is a medium sized breed. I was able to find out, although it was a gamble, that the Perfect Pet All-Weather Efficient Medium sized dog door fit PERFECTLY within the existing frame of this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GIDJNK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) The only modifications you need to do are simple, and do not remove the orig. functionality should you choose to revert back to the stock dog door. All you need to do is remove the frame, and drill two pilot holes for the screws after you pop off the magnetic strip on the bottom of the door. The frame fits snugly and looks as if it came with the frame. I added a picture to show what it looks like if you would like to see!.

Great Door
I looked at a few comparing features. I chose this one because I did not want to drill permanent holes in my sliders frame for a pet door and this one is spring loaded so it is easily removed at night for safety if you wish. NOTE: About size. The weight sizing for this item is all WRONG. There is no way a 90 pound dog is going to fit through the flap of the extra large door like I ordered. Heck my Sheltie is only 24 lbs and it is a perfect fit for him. So pay attention to the flap size and if you have a truly big dog, say Lab, boxer or a bit smaller order the larger size. Really measure the dog and flap dimensions. Oh and wait....... the description said the XL door would accommodate up to a 90 lb. dog or cat. Well if a 90 lb. cat comes through that pet door.............heck it can just have the whole house, I'd be leaving.........LOL Ok, now back to the xl door. As I said it is perfect for my Sheltie who is 24 lbs and for my Cavalier Puppy I just got. It is perfect because my hubby figured out if your take out the frame that the flap hangs in and remove the side screws from the bottom panel, that panel will slide up and you put the frame with the flap back in and then it is prefect for the smaller dogs to go through, Before my hubby figured this out they both used the door, but they had to kinda jump to get through the opening. Now they just walk right through. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others. Just keep in mind the flap size, measure the dogs (for lack of a better word) across the butt and its height at the shoulder and order the appropriate size.

What a Perfect Solution!
Just put this in a week ago and am LOVING it. What a great product! I was looking for a way to have a pet door that didn't involve a lengthy, costly, permanent, and professional installation. Before buying this item, I tried a cheap plastic clip-in pet door for my patio screen, which was too stiff and hard for my cat to open (he complain-meowed and refused to go through it), so I decided to invest up into this item, and am really glad I did! The vinyl flap is soft on his head and swings open with ease. My cat figured out the clear flap after a few treats and pawing at it, and although he's a princess who would rather a human open the door for him, now uses it to go in and out regularly without us. The flap has a metallic bottom to close itself via a magnet on the frame, too -- great design (so far, at least, and we will see how well it works with time). The cat previously tore a hole in our patio's screen door to get outside (the little bugger!) and we were getting tons of mosquitos indoors as a result, biting us and our guests, buzzing by our ears when we were trying to sleep; it was terrible. This thing works like a charm: no mosquitos to report since installing it, whoo hoo! Looks very nice and fits perfectly with the style of my standard patio door! The embossed seal on the flap itself is a classy touch, too. I do wish there were more color options at this price point (the bronze and silver ones were more expensive when I was shopping), though I suppose it being white means I could paint it if I have the wherewithall someday. I also wish I could turn it around, because I think the inside-facing pane does not look as good as the outside-facing one, but the instructions say specifically not to do so (doesn't say why) -- the flap's plastic cover and frame look cheaper than the rest of the door, but it's not terrible and probably only noticeable to the picky installer :) The only other thing to note is that, obviously, the screen door does not slide against it, so there is this weird gap whenever you want to have just a screen door open for fresh air. I was impressed with how incredibly simple, adjustable, and easy it was to install. Again, great design. Also, the video is super helpful! FYI, I live up on the 4th floor of a nice condo complex, and so do not have any worries about locking this door or other animals getting in. Your mileage may vary. So glad I invested in this! Wish I had gone this route first instead of trying other cheap fixes!

Can be butter
The door quality is fine. But the packing was very bad. Looks like box was opened before. Inside of the box don’t have any protection for pieces of the items which inside the glass. It is must to have extra packaging. I needed to open packages on front delivery guy to check if nothing not broken. The height small, be aware the all this doors will be smaller than balcony UAE door, need additional extantion. Will be great to have extra pieces adhesive tape to instal door properly in the place. The two parts of item not connected properly to each other. I need to buy extra tapes and silicone adhesive.

Ich könnte nicht glücklicher sein!
Diese Tür wurde schnell geliefert und war „wie neu“, wie in der Beschreibung angegeben. Ich könnte nicht zufriedener mit dem Verkäufer sein! Vielen Dank SO sehr! Ich habe ein Foto von der Tür und meiner Katze Cooper auf dem Balkon beigefügt. Der Balkon ist komplett mit einem Netz versehen und sicher für meine beiden Katzen. Die Platte war einfach zu installieren. Die Haustiertür funktioniert großartig und hat eine perfekte Menge an Magnetismus an der Unterseite der Klappe. Meine Katzen haben keine Probleme, sie zu benutzen. Nochmals vielen Dank! Übersetzt mit DeepL.com (kostenlose Version)

Just great
The best thing I ever did. Living in a condo and having a small dog would be cruel to take it outside when the weather is very cold. I set up a small area on my balcony so the dog can use the doggie door as and when she needs it. I still have use of the patio door without a problem still giving me use of my balcony. I would recommend this to anyone in need of an exit for their pet.

My dog got used to it very easily and it keeps the cold air out. I’m extremely satisfied!
