Snakebyte Idroid Controller (Android)

One thing that always bugged me was the lack of premium controllers out there, tiny ones, massive ones, weird looking ones, the list goes on!Then I discovered this, nothing fancy, nothing futuristic just a basic Playstation style controller, it looks and feels GREAT the analog sticks are sturdy and feel good and have some resistance which is good (many controllers have "loose" analog sticks which make them useless for any serious gaming) the buttons work fine and it has a gorgeous black matte finish which feels amazing it also synced with my Galaxy S5 perfectly and instantly worked fine in controller mode and I was playing DBZ: Shin Budokai on PPSSPP emulator in seconds!Overall I'm very pleased with it, my only miff is that is uses Mini USB and not Micro USB however they do include a charging cable in the box so this is a minor issue.If you, like myself are sick of seeing the same pathetic "android controllers" on the net then definitely give this one a try! you will NOT regret it!

Excellent and so far works fine with my Amazon Fire TV stick games. The only reason I make it down one star is that it's difficult to work out the button mapping and not 100% sure if they're all mapped. Finding information is quite tricky too. Charge it first before trying to connect it.

Item arrived quickly and was well packaged.Pro's:Nice feel to the pad/ Bluetooth.Has all the button's that you will need.Work's with many emulator's (snesoid, SToid,genplusdroid,Mupen64 plus,ppssp,fpse) (good for Mario Cart 64)Work's with some touch screen games (CS Portable and Shadowgun)Great for platforming games, good if you are used to the playstation controller.Work's with Original nexus7 and my moto g.Thumbsticks are o.k.Charged battery last's ages and pad is light.Con's:The controller requires set-up for the type of emulator you are using(button layout on a playstation controller requires more than the layout for snes (x2 analogue stick's). The instruction's from within the box will leave you scratching your head a little (They seem to have been translated badly from German to English).Mode button on instructions refers to the power button on controller.The use of the keyboard and mouse button remains unclear.The d-pad while good for platformers is terrible for Streetfighter (analogue compensates but is inaccurate).The thumbstick's feel slightly raised (coming from a 360 pad). If you are looking to play Goldeneye, you cannot map the right analogue stick (to use as view(c-buttons).You have to un-map the button's whenever you want to change the mode on pad (change from retro console to playstation). (easy when you know how).Accompanying website, is little help.

Theres definitely a slight delay between button press and action. I guess this is inherent in the Bluetooth technology.Unfortunately the slight delay makes many games, eg Super Mario World, quite frustrating to play, in other words its useless for such games. Otherwise its a very nice controller.

I was sceptical on how good these devices would be. I wanted one to test the compatibility with the running and playing of emulators on my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.The controller is of solid construction and is comfortable to hold. I especially like that some of the buttons are configured to access menus and flip through your screens so you dont have to revert to touching the screen to access stuff.Pairing the device was a snap as well.I started off by trying the gendroid emulator and I was very impressed. I had to manually map a couple of keys but as soon as that was done it was game on!!!!. Now playing emulators is so much more fun and the controller add the missing dimension to my galaxy tab 3.Fantastic controller and I would recommend all you retro fans out them to pick up one of these. OldSkool rules once again.

If you think you are going to have a flawless Android gaming experience, think again! The build quality is really good, outside of that it has proved to be useless and I have taken a hammer to it.The modes are unusable, it does not work with most Android games. It did not work at all with my Shield Portable. Because it has no mapper and because you cannot have all of the buttons on the game pad configured at the same time it is all but useless.If you are a Shield Portable user then but the new Shield Controller. If you are an Android gamer and want a controller - this is not it.

Works great with my macbook. However there is a half second lag when using console emulators on my nexus 5. Doesn't matter much since I play RPG games mostly. However if you are more of an action/platform gamer and want to play games like yoshi's island on your android device, then this is not what you are looking for.

This is a perfect game control pad. Bought for use with the Nvidia Shield TV (see other reviews) as the Nvidia controller is just too expensive. I only wanted a bluetooth controller to pair with the Shield that I could use to play 2 player games with my daughter. This fitted the bill. Ordered 1 day received the next. Well packaged, easy to follow instructions, paired immediately with the Shield and all buttons work exactly the same as the Nvidia controller for less than half the price. Brilliant. This feels light but solid and well made. The controller itself is in a soft touch rubberised plastic, which is very comfortable in the hands, the buttons have great responses, the D-pad is tactile and the triggers feel decent without being to soft or strong. My daughter actually prefers this to the Nvidia controller as it is nice and light whilst feeling comfortable in the hands. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a decent controller to pair with an android device.

C'est une bonne manette ,elle a passé tous mes tests de solidité et je peut dire que c'est du solide. Le point faible des manettes est le stick gauche qui permet le deplacement . Ce stick est fortement sollicité dans les jeux FPS ou courses automobiles .J'ai possédé auparavant 2 manettes Ipega PG9025 et les sticks gauches n'ont pas duré longtemps et je ne suis pas le seul a avoir ce problème.Ipega a fuir ,c'est de la daube et son petit prix ne vaut pas le coup.L'Idroid n'est pas chère par rapport a ses concurentes , elle est simple d'utilisation n'a aucun problème de reconnaissance et surtout le stick gauche est solide.( essentiel pour une manette).

Im Gegensatz zu meiner letzten Bewertung in der ich ein funktionsunfähiges Gerät erhalten habe (Bewertung 1 Stern) habe ich nun bessere Erfahrungen mit dem Produkt gemacht. Immerhin hat sich nicht bestätigt, dass der Fehler zuletzt (wie häufig anzunehmen) beim Nutzer, also mir zu suchen ist.Jetzt läuft alles mit dem Controller wunderbar - Konfiguration ist gut beschrieben und wird sauber mit kaum spürbarer Latenz umgesetzt. Der Controller liegt gut in der Hand und fühlt sich wertig an, wenn man einmal von der sich schnell ablösenden Folie des Snakebyte-Logos absieht.Ich möchte den Controller gerne zum Steuern von VR Anwendungen verwenden (Google Cardboard, Stooksy VR, Samsong Gear und wie sie alle heißen) und erwarte mir ein gutes Erlebnis.Ich bin froh es ein zweites mal (mangels Optionen!) mit dem Snakebyte-Controller versucht zu haben :)===============Hier zur Vollständigkeit mein vernichtender alter Kommentar zum ersten (defekten) Controller:==============="We were never able to turn it on. The on/off button never worked."Während hier auf der deutschen Amazon-Seite die Bewertungen noch recht moderat sind, zeigt das englischsprachige Pendant von Amazon dort knapp ein Drittel "1-Stern-Bewertungen". Hätte ich einmal vorher anschauen sollen...Ich habe gestern mein iDroid:con erhalten und habe es nach dem Auspacken gleich zum Laden gehängt, da sich das Gerät offenbar aufgrund eines geringen Akkustandes nicht einschalten ließ (dachte ich).Nun nach einer Nacht am Ladekabel zeigen sich immer dieselben Syntome, wenn ich wie folgt vorgehe:- Controller lädt (LED 4 leuchtet konstant)- Controller ist voll geladen (LED 4 aus)- [optional: Kabel entfernen]- Druck auf Tasten [ON/OFF] + [X/Y/A/B] für mehrere Sekunden zur Inbetriebnahme in einem der Modi- Jeweilige LED blinkt einmal kurz und einmal lange- Schnelles Blinken der LED folgt NICHT- Gerät mit Bluetooth-Geräten nicht sichtbarSomit ist das Gerät für mich nicht nutzbar und da ich von anderen Nutzern ähnliche Probleme berichtet bekomme werde ich das Gerät nun zurücksenden.Schade, ich hatte mich gefreut eine geeignete Lösung zur Steuerung von Google Cardboard / Stooksy VR / .... Apps zu finden und zu nutzen.PS.: In den Kommentaren erwähnt einer, dass ein internes Kabel lose sei. Durch Aufschrauben des Controllers ließe sich das von mir geschilderte Problem demnach beheben. Ich möchte aber keine Garantie verlieren.

Très bon feeling une fois la Gamepad en main, la texture est agréable.Compatible avec tous les jeux qui fonctionnent avec le Gear VR (du moins avec ceux sortis jusque là), mais pas compatible avec tous les jeux disponibles sur le PlayStore Android (donc en dehors du Gear VR).Très content de cet achat et article de bonne qualité, simple à coupler (pairer) avec sa Phablette en Bluetooth.Je le recommande !

War zuerst unsicher, ob der Controller auch mit dem fireTV funktioniert, da ich in einer Rezension gelesen hatte, dass es eben nicht funktionieren soll.Habe es einfach getestet und es funktioniert super.Kostet weniger als die Hälfte des Original Fire-Gamecontrollers und ist dank integriertem Lithium-Ionen-Akkus per im Lieferumfang enthaltenen USB-Ladekabels wiederaufladbar.Der Akku war anfangs komplett leer. Nach ca. drei Stunden Ladezeit war er komplett aufgeladen. Aufladen funktioniert übrigens auch am USB-Port des fireTV, sogar im Standby.Das USB-Ladekabel hat einen Mini-USB-Stecker und keinen Micro-USB-Stecker. Man kann zum Laden also nicht das Ladegerät vom Android-Smartphone hernehmen. Bei mir war der Stecker bei Lieferung abgeknickt. Er lädt zwar den Controller, wackelt aber wie ein Kuhschwanz. Werde ich reklamieren.Da der fireTV Bluetooth integriert hat, koppelt man den Bluetooth Controller einfach, indem man folgende Tasten am Controller solange gedrückt hält, bis die Betriebs-LED schnell blinkt: "Mode + X". Mit "Mode"-Taste ist der Power-Knopf am Controller gemeint.Dann wechselt man mit der Fernbedienung des fireTV auf dessen "Einstellungen" und wählt "Steuerung" aus. Hier gibt es den Unterpunkt "Bluetooth-Gamecontroller". Dann nur noch "Bluetooth-Gamecontroller hinzufügen" auswählen und nach kurzer Zeit zeigt der fireTV an, dass er mit "idroid:con" gekoppelt ist. Die LED 1 blinkt nicht mehr und leuchtet nun dauerhaft in rot. Der Controller befindet sich nun im "Gamepad"-Modus.Auf der Rückseite des Controllers befinden sich vier LEDs. Die ersten drei zeigen die unterschiedlichen Betriebsmodi an. Wobei ich nur den Gamepad-Modus mit dem fireTV getestet habe. Der Rest war mir egal. ;-)Die vierte LED leuchtet, wenn der Akku geladen wird. Wenn er vollgeladen ist, erlischt die LED wieder.Dem Controller liegt nur eine englisch-sprachige Kurzanleitung bei. Detailliertere Anleitungen in anderen Sprachen, findet man auf der Homepage des Herstellers. Die Adresse ist auf der kleinen Kurzanleitung abgedruckt.Getestet habe ich den Gamecontroller mit "Stickman Downhill - Motocross", "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" und "The Walking Dead: First Season" ohne Probleme aus ca. sechs Metern Entfernung.Der Controller ähnelt dem der PS3 und schaltet sich nach einiger Zeit der Nichtbenutzung automatisch aus.Liegt ähnlich gut in der Hand, ist nicht zu schwer und hat ordentliche Druckpunkte. Scheint für den Preis relativ sauber verarbeitet zu sein. Klappert nur, wenn man den Controller ordentlich schüttelt. Man spürt einen kleinen Grat, wo Ober- und Unterhälfte des Controllers miteinander verschraubt sind. Aber auf der Innen- und nicht auf der Außenseite. Mal sehen, ob das bei längeren Spielen störend ist.Im Vergleich zum Original Fire-Gamecontroller, ist die Analog- und Digital-Steuerung anders angeordnet. Außerdem fehlen dem idroid:con die Multimedia-Tasten und die Zurück-/Home-/Optionen-Taste, wie sie auch auf der fireTV-Fernbedienung zu finden sind. Diese Tasten benötigt man eigentlich nicht beim Spielen, sondern nur um den fireTV zu steuern oder um aus dem Spiel zum fireTV zurückzukehren. Das ist aber leicht zu verschmerzen, denn dafür hat man ja die fireTV-Fernbedienung.Dafür schaut der idroid:con-Controller schlanker und schicker aus, kostet viel weniger und kann auch noch aufgeladen werden.Wie lange der Akku mit einer Ladung durchhält, konnte ich noch nicht testen. Aber falls der Akku die nächsten Jahre nicht schlapp machen sollte und Amazon die Unterstützung des Controllers nicht per Software-Update unterbindet, habe ich meinen idealen Begleiter für das fireTV gefunden.Ich überlege mir sogar, ob ich mir bei dem Preis nicht noch einen idroid:con für Multiplayer-Spiele zulegen soll.Nachtrag/Update:Der Controller funktioniert immer noch super. Habe mir inzwischen auch schon einen zweiten zugelegt. Mit der Akku-Laufzeit bin ich auch zufrieden.Meinem Arbeitskollegen habe ich den Controller ebenfalls empfohlen. Er hat einen fireTV Stick. Bei ihm haben die Buttons nicht funktioniert, die Steuerung aber schon.Wir haben dann Controller getauscht. Mit seinem Controller an meinem fireTV haben die Buttons auch nicht funktioniert. Mein Controller an seinem fireTV Stick war fehlerfrei. Auch die Gegenprobe mit einem Game auf seinem Android-Smartphone zeigte denselben Fehler mit den inaktiven Buttons.Folglich war der Controller defekt. Er hat ihn über Amazon getauscht (Marketplace-Anbieter) und der neu gelieferte Controller (direkt Amazon) funktioniert seitdem einwandfrei.Somit funktioniert der Controller auch am fireTV Stick.Nachtrag/Update 2:Nachdem einige Amazon-Kunden in den Diskussionsbeiträgen gemeldet hatten, dass der Controller nicht kompatibel mit dem FireTV/Stick sei, da zwar die Steuerung, aber die Keys nicht funktionierten und dasselbe Verhalten auch bei Austausch-Controllern aufgetreten sei, habe ich mich dazu bereit erklärt, einen Stern abzuziehen, obwohl ich mit dem Produkt nur positive Erfahrungen gemacht habe.Für fünf Sterne müssten aber alle Amazon-Kunden dieselben Erfahrungen mit diesem Produkt machen.Nachdem das nicht der Fall ist, kann ich diesen Controller nicht mehr als kostengünstige Alternative zum Original FireTV/Stick GamePad empfehlen.Eventuell ist der "Nyko Playpad Pro"-Controller eine Alternative. Diesen Controller hat "Hans" in den Diskussionsbeiträgen zum idroid-Controller erfolgreich getestet.

De mémoire il s'agissait d'un produit d'occasion (le factures ne l'indiquent pas)Le produit m'a été livré à l'état neuf et il fonctionne à merveille avec un S4 Galaxy mais .. sans notice .. et dans un cellophane.Au final j'ai trouvé la notice sur le net, donc pas de probleme, l'essentiel étant que tout fonctionne.Ressemble à une manette de PS2 (je n'y connais pas grand chose en console cependant)Sauf erreur la batterie n'est pas changeable.Peut servir de souris (c'est prévu .. ) mais je vois pas trop l'interet.
