I use the HRM 600 for both running and lake swimming, paired with my Garmin watch. It stays securely in place for both and once I’m moving I barely notice I’m wearing it. For running I get heart rate along with cadence, stride length, vertical oscillation, vertical ratio, ground contact time and left/right ground contact balance. It also measures step speed loss – how much I slow down when my foot hits the ground. I find the ground contact and balance data particularly useful for comparing runs and seeing things that pace and distance alone simply don’t show. It’s also excellent for my lake swims. Heart-rate data isn’t transmitted to my watch while I’m underwater, so the HRM 600 records and stores it during the swim and the data transfers afterwards. I can then see what my heart rate was doing throughout the session rather than losing that information while I’m in the water. It can also record certain activities without wearing my watch and track things including steps, distance, calories and intensity minutes. The module is rechargeable and detaches from the strap so the strap can be machine washed, which is particularly useful when mine is regularly going between lake swims and sweaty runs! For me, the HRM 600 is all about the detail. I can finish a run or swim and properly analyse the session afterwards rather than just seeing how far I went and how long it took

Wanted a chest strap for a few years, when this came on offer I took the punt. Already made my interval workouts so much more accurate and therefore less error in training plans. As for the device compared to other models, accuracy and fit and all much of a muchness I think, but having a rechargeable battery is nice in the short term, will have to see how it holds up over time. I bought the higher model for its extra tracking features (swimming, treadmill pace etc) and so far so good, it has done what I wanted it to do. If you've been thinking of getting one, just do it.

My hubby had an old Polar strap but he kept having issue with the battery expiring after one use. It was important that a new HR strap would work with his Concept PM5 monitor and this one does perfectly. It recharges via a usb and lasts a few rows. He reported that it did pinch a bit, but he thinks that’s the way he wears it and maybe it needs slacking off a little. Great buy though.

I've had this hrm for 12 months now, so I feel in the position to give an honest user's review. I am fairly happy with it the data is accurate and it fits well around the chest. I follow the guidance on cleaning however, after about 6 months I did notice that the hrm wasn't giving the correct readings. I contacted garmin customer service ( who's a excellent) and after reviewing some of my workout data, agreed that there was a issue. I sent my hrm off for testing and they sent me a new one out with in a few days. The battery life is good between chargings and the fact that it is rechargeable means I don't have to go through the faf of changing the battery which is a right pain. 4 stars as had to send it back to garmin.

It’s very comfortable to wear while working out and measures heart rate very accurately. The best part is that I don’t have to wear my watch when working on the heavy bag with gloves. Highly recommend it!"

I got this as a birthday present, and it's turned out to be one of the most useful gifts I've ever received. Finally, I can track my heart rate accurately without any glitches. I'm very happy with it!

Da ich schon seit vielen Jahren Garmin Uhren nutze, wollte ich für meine Trainings auch einen passenden Brustgurt von Garmin ausprobieren. Mit dem HRM 600 bin ich bisher sehr zufrieden. Der Gurt sitzt angenehm und bleibt auch beim Sport gut an seinem Platz. Die Verbindung mit meiner Garmin Uhr hat sofort funktioniert und die Herzfrequenz wird zuverlässig übertragen. Was mir besonders gefällt, ist, dass ich den Brustgurt während des Trainings eigentlich kaum bemerke. Auch bei längeren Trainingseinheiten ist er angenehm zu tragen. Die Verarbeitung wirkt hochwertig und insgesamt macht der HRM 600 genau das, was er soll. Für mich eine sehr gute Ergänzung zu meiner Garmin Uhr und ich bin mit dem Kauf rundum zufrieden.
