I was hoping for a fun, sex-filled anime. I got lots of rape.I know that a lot of Japanese manga/anime like to show a significant difference in ages and heights in their main "romantic" characters, but NO MONEY take that predilection to obscene heights. The "hero," Kanou, is at least three times the breadth (shoulders and chest) and weight, and twice the height and age, of the boy Ayase, who claims to be a college student, but looks and sounds like a 13-year-old girl, which ups the obscenity factor.The story [I made the mistake of not reading the manga first, so I didn't know what I was letting myself in for] has the older beloved cousin of the boy Ayase sell him to pay off his gambling debts. Ayase is heavily drugged at the "auction," to make him pliable. He is bought by Kanou who, angered that drugged Ayase still manages to rebuke his sexual advances on their first night together, rapes him.Later, because his feelings are wounded that Ayase does not remember their first encounter during a rainstorm on the street at some previous unspecified time, Kanou turns Ayase into his personal whore, paying him every time they have sex so Ayase can pay off his cousin's debt and what Kanou paid for him. When Ayase finally says no to this program, Kanou threatens to have Ayase star in adult films that will effectively ruin any future he had hoped for himself, thus extorting him to accept and be paid for more sex.When Kanou rescues Ayase from even worse bad guys who kidnapped and pumped Ayase full of what are essentially high-powered aphrodisiacs, Kanou takes him home and, knowing he's pumped full of drugs, has sex with him. Repeatedly. That's rape, too. It's presented as triumphal love-making.But wait, it gets much much worse. The distributor decided to send along a DVD I did not order as a "gift": KISS IN THE DARK. This anime celebrates pedophilia, incest, and statutory rape, making them look like good things. High school freshman Mira has been raised by Kyosuke, a man he believes to be his father. He has slept in his "father's" bed since he was at least three or four. Kyosuke initiated sex with him when he was at least 12 or 13 and continues to have regular sex with him. The DVD synopsis calls this their "special bond."It does not matter that Mira enjoys the sex. It does not matter that he later learns he was adopted. Kyosuke called himself Mira's father, acted like Mira's father, and in Mira's mind Kyosuke was his father. When an adoptive parent or step-parent has sex with a child, even though there is no blood connection, that is still incest. And statutory rape. When an adult wants to have sex with a 12 or 13-year-old boy (possibly younger), that is pedophilia.You do not want to spend time with these people.
