Is this the same as ascorbic acid? this company used to sell ascorbic acid (vitamin c) supplement.

No they are not the same thing. Ascorbic acid is found in citrus fruits as well as citric acid, but citric acid does not contain Vitamin C.

Is this made/packaged in a facility also handling nuts?

I don't think so. It does not state that anywhere on the package (which is a requirement) and it says pure product so I think it should be safe.

What is this made from? Is it made from citrus fruits?

It's possibly made from black mold. Aspergillis Nigra I believe. It may not be spelled correctly bit it is NOT ascorbic acid. Ascorbic Acid is also sold as Vitamin C. Research research research.
