Nice solid wood. Good idea with nice cards. Some are tight/loose.
I like these a lot. They're lovely solid bits of wood which are a nice chunky size good for hands of any size to play with. They're super easy to work out how to use without any thought and the cards with suggested builds on them to try and replicate are well made and produce nice models. They are for the most part well made, but the odd few (too many for the price) are either pretty tight or irritatingly loose. Not enough that it ruins the set, but more than I'd be happy to have paid this much for. I still think they're a really good toy though and worth getting on a sale.

Not buildable as the tolerance is too tight.
The concept of these building blocks is great, but the tolerance between the blocks and the connectors is just too tight and it ended up with our 7 year old in tears after stubbing his finger on a sharp edge trying too hard to push them together. Our nearly three year old could not put them together at all and also got very frustrated. We had taken them down to the local pub garden for the kids to play with whilst we had a Friday pint so the locals had to have a go too after the kids had discarded them, this was also pretty frustrating, even if a little funny, watching four burly machine workers and builders struggling to locate these blocks together. If they can't manage it with their Popeye arms then a small child has no hope.Great idea and well packaged but just not buildable as the tolerance is too tight.

you cannot get bored
These 50 Montessori-style building blocks promote STEM learning and creativity. The wooden material is sturdy, and the interactive cards help with parent-child bonding. Great for children 3+ years old.

Great open-ended building play idea
This is a really nice set of building blocks with a twist. They come with a handy storage bag to keep them in when not in use and have cards included to prompt different play ideas. They’re easy enough to put together and fun for any age. Although I would say maybe age 5 upwards as it does require higher thinking.I like how open ended this could be - great Montessori style play. Although the blocks are all pretty similar so it would be good if there were some variation to the blocks to allow scope for different things.Overall they feel reasonable quality but I do think they’re a tad expensive for what you get.

Great idea with a not so great execution..
I really like the idea of this product. As a childcare practitioner, I know that montessori toys are really encouraged in today's day and age. There are multiple double sided cards covered with ideas of things that you can build, showing exactly how many of each part you need, or you can just completely freestyle! My daughter made her own "rollers" while I followed the cards. The wood is very clean and safely sanded so there are no splinters which is obviously the biggest concern when playing with wood.Unfortunately a lot of the pieces don't actually fit very nicely, with some being too big to the point that they get ridiculously stuck and really hurt your hands to get out, while others are so loose that they fall out the moment you pick up your creation. This did get very frustrating, even for me as a 31 year old adult, and my daughter had to keep asking for help instead of being able to just play freely with them.In addition, we only recieved 43 wooden pieces. I thought that there was supposedly 50 pieces? Or does the "50 pieces" include the 6 cards and storage bag? I'm somewhat confused about this and find this to be quite misleading if it is the case. Also, the video advertisement shows the pieces being nicely packaged in a box with nice foam compartments, other reviews seem to have received the same fancy packaging, but mine just arrived as a bunch of loose mixed pieces in a box.I personally think that the price of £29.99 is a bit of a poor value for money considering the functionality of the product but I am aware that most montessori toys are generally quite expensive.Overall I'm honestly disappointed, frustrated and my hands are sore. Yes there is some functionality and a lot of educational value to these blocks, but they are also quite dysfunctional and did not arrive as described, hence the neutral stars.

Absolutely ridiculous: the pieces are too big and get stuck so kids can't separate them
I liked the look of this rather different wooden construction toy, but am disappointed by the reality. The toy was supplied in a simple, brown box with light brown printing on it - a more sustainable approach to packaging. The toy itself is all wooden, and came with a natural fabric storage bag and construction ideas cards. It's a pity that the manufacturer undermined the sustainability of the design by liberally applying wide, plastic parcel tape all over the outside of the box to keep it sealed. The toy itself isn't the most inspiring. The pieces seem nicely made and are neatly finished. However the unusual shapes of the pieces makes it difficult to construct recognisable items. You can make some quite interesting, abstract, sculptural forms - but it's harder to design with clear purpose.Although neatly sanded, there is a problem with this slot together system based on mortice and tenon joints. Quite a lot of the pieces fit together really, really tightly. I appreciate that they need not to just fall apart to allow a construction to take shape, but these are hard for an adult to separate - so good luck to your average preschooler! Since one of the aims of construction toys is to help promote independence, they're a bit of a fail on this front and rather frustrating for children to use. My six year old nephew was pretty annoyed with these. I might try sanding some of the pieces down to see if I can get them to move a bit more readily without the connections becoming too loose (as a couple of those supplied seem to be, although most are just too stiff by far) - but as they arrived, these seem pretty impractical and significantly overpriced at £32.99.As an EY teacher, this is not a set I would recommend

Hoping it gets better
This is a great alternative to screens! My boys played with it for a long time:I’m not sure if it’s because it’s brand new but we did struggle with some pieces fitting together. Some were too tough and other too loose.

Not great
This wooden toy is a great idea but let down by poor quality. The pieces are super tight and difficult to put together and even harder to take them apart. The circle bits have sharp edges that even hurt my finger, let alone a child's.Its good to see wooden toys, but personally I would not give this to a 3 year old.
