Pleasantly Surprised
I ordered this cutlass to use as part of a pirate costume, for the price I wasn’t really expecting much and the reviews weren’t stellar so my expectations were pretty low. The sword arrived in a rather flimsy box but on opening it I found that the sword was decently packed protected by bubble wrap and had a hard plastic cover on the tip to protect it from damage. After getting it unwrapped I was impressed by the fact that there was no looseness in the components. It felt solid in my hand. The back and edge were both straight with no waves. The edge wasn’t really sharp but not completely dull either, it can be sharpened but not sure how well it will hold an edge but we’re talking about a costume accessory not a battle weapon. As far as weight it seems just about right for a weapon designed to slash and bludgeon rather than fine sword play. If I was going to offer a complaint it would be about the sheath, it doesn’t hold the blade snugly and doesn’t give me the impression that it was constructed for longevity. All in all this sword is well worth the price and I have no regrets about purchasing it.

This sword is underrated!
I bought this sword despite its 2 star review simply because it was super cheap, and here's what I've found out. This sword is a beautiful piece. it isn't very sharp, so sharpen it. it isn't full tang, so don't bash it into hard objects. lastly, it is basic, so customize it, give it your own little touch, I'd recommend adding a small pommel as the bottom is literally a bolt. (A perfectly valid and reasonable way to do it considering the price.) Understand that this is a very inexpensive sword, treat it with respect and it won't fail you, flail it at trees and you will most certainly be loosing your blade. As for the scabbard, I've practiced drawing my sword from it quite a bit and it has held up so far. I think as long as you keep your sword hand disciplined in both drawing and using this sword you'll be just fine

Would not buy again...
It looks nice and I was excited for a bit but... The sheath fell apart after a few times of putting the blade in and pulling it out. The spine of the blade looks "straight" but there is an obvious bend bend in the edge part of the blade. Feels sturdy and all but the sheath is worthless and it came out of the box bent. Packaging looked fine, not damaged in shipping. Halloween party is in two days so no way to send it back in time and get a replacement.

Absolutely perfect!
Oh wow! Better than I thought it was going to be. THIS IS A PIRATE SWORD! It's not overly decorative like an actual Pirate Sword would be. The weight is perfect and so is the scabbard.

Sheath is useless, split open on first insertion
Bought as a wall decoration and as such it works. Sheath is useless, split open on first insertion. It is a good wall hanger though.

You get what your buying, no BS
For a costume, or quick prop, this is perfect. I wouldn't count on this sword in a fight, but you get what you pay for, and this is a fair deal. Not wobbly, blade is sturdy enough. No complaints.

Fine for the price
As a wall anger, it is awesome. I don't hate the sheath witch as a belt loop on. Otherwise, the steel is one of the cheapest you can find. The guard is pretty weak and the whole thing is not assembled so well. It is also very heavy and doesn't come very sharp out of the box but it as an edge so you can sharpen it yourself. Finally, the handle is totally round witch is bad for edge alignment but you can always file it to be a little more comfortable. In the end, it is a 50$ sword...

Inexpensive and with good reason
One thing I liked was how inexpensive it was, that said it is heavy, thick, easily bent and unhardend, the handle is round making it hard to index and hold blade alignment, it is soft stainless steel, ok for a wall hanger. But after re profiling the blades edge, polishing off the "pakistan" etching, carving the hardwood handle in to a usable shape, removing a 1/2lb of metal off the spine to make it lighter and give it more of a cutlas shape, and hardening the blade, polishing it back up giving it a proper scabbard this turned out to be a good buy for $56 CAD. things you will need to make it worth anything but a wall hanger - angle grinder, carving tools, forge, metal hardening knowledge, time and patience

What are you expecting for only $50?
Why do people buy cheap swords and then write critical reviews when their not Albion quality? This is what it obviously is, a cheap costume/ wall hanger. And for that purpose, it delivers. I give it 4/5 because the sheath is actually really bad, a type of synthetic foam. Other than that this is a neat $50 wall hanger.
