I got these brass quick connectors to supplement my supply of aluminum quick-connects (QCs). Nope. The fittings do NOT match up with the aluminum connectors (with black rubber gripper bands in pic). I was surprised that they DO fit with existing plastic connectors.Two aspects I did not expect:1. The fittings do not mix/match with my existing aluminum QCs.They do mix/match with existing plastic QCs. Like the plastic QCs, they are harder to attach. The O ring must be seated well for the QC to seal. Half the sets leaked on the first try, but sealed on the 2nd try. This was the case when I attached brass to brass and when I attached brass to plastic. Likely I will have to replace O rings within a year.2. Existing aluminum sets have the male part of the QC set attached to the hose-end device (here, sprayer). These brass sets have the female part of the QC set attached to the sprayer. I have some plastic sets with female attaching to the sprayer and some with male attaching to sprayer.For these two reasons, I will use these connectors in a specific set of 4 hoses that I use, always and only, with one manifold and 4 specific sprayers. They will not be in the general population of garden hose equipment.The pieces appear to be well made. They do not have rubbery ridges on outer surfaces, so they are harder to handle when working with wet hands.These solid brass connectors should hold up well to routine weather and yard abuse. The current price (less than $20 for a set of 6 connector pairs), provides a good value IF you do not need to mix and match with aluminum, and if you do not often need to disconnect/ re-connect.ADDED:If you need a male/male or female/female connector for a garden hose, of course you will go to a hardware store and get a good quality part. But today I needed a temporary ‘just need this right now’ setup. I used the right-ward (to me) plastic connectors with the backwards (to me) brass connectors. Problem solved.Rating: goodMy scale: 5 star = excellent (or has a special feature), 4 star = good/ very good (does what it should), 3 star = average (or has a minor flaw), 2 star = below average (multiple flaws or does not perform its function well), 1 star = avoid (does not fulfill its mission). I rarely use the term ‘perfect’ and I rarely assign 5 stars.

These make it so easy to connect and disconnect my hoses that extend from the back of the yard to the front. Having challenges with strength in my grip and twist I am very grateful for the convenience. They were not difficult to install and seal very well. So far the brass has held up through all types of weather and the abuse of being used by me.

Purpose For Product: Recently I purchased a sprayer that came with a plastic quick connector- I had never used oneand I was fascinated with how handy they are so when I found these brass connectors Idecided to install them on all of my hose sprayer heads.Product Inspection: Nice heavy cardboard box containing six (6) solid brass quick connector sets for 3/4" gardenhoses These things are a nice heavy. The treading is clean, uniform, with no burring. All edges aresmooth without burrs. There is a washer provided for the male connection.Product Performance: Installed the male connection to the water supply hose, tightened as it should.Installed the female connection to the spray head.Installed the connectors together, which required a little pushing to get the O-ringto snug up. The quick release component is spring loaded with three bearings inside tosecure the parts. Everything functioned smoothly and securely.Made one mistake-there is one washer and that is for the male hose connection.Didn't check the spray head, I left that one out and it leaked, see photo. Once thewasher was installed everything was tight and the leaking was fixed-my fault notthe connector.Summary: These connectors appear substantially manufactured with clean threads, smooth edgesand good functioning parts. Installed four of these quick connectors sets and am verypleased with their operation. Price point seems very reasonable for this level of quality.NOTE: A decent pull is required when disconnecting- but that means a good tight connectionto me- I am good with that.
