ChuChi did the trick + great customer service
I was looking for a cuddly night light sort of thing for my then almost 3 year old. I was thinking about the glow worm of the past - something that he could have in bed to give him comfort in the night when he needed it. I wanted something that would turn off by itself and that didn't play music. I found ChuChi. I was hesitant because of the $30 price tag but since this is exactly what I was looking for, I went ahead with it. I am happy that I did. ChuChi has been comforting to my son - I read him the story on the box which explains that ChuChi are nocturnal creatures that sleep during the day and are awake at night, so they can catch and eat monsters. My son loved the idea of this. :-) As someone else mentioned, ChuChi comes in a beautifully designed box with information. ChuChi has two different lights - if you squeeze his hand one time, his head and his head glows for a few minutes. If you squeeze his hand twice, his heart beats red and changes rhythm.Pros:1) Very soft and cuddly2) Two different types of night lights (head and heart)3) Easy for child to use4) Turns off automatically5) No music (a negative for some;for me a positive)6) Wonderful customer service from Banana Design (see below)Cons:1) Expensive2) Not machine washable3) The light in my ChuChi's head stopped working after about 3 months. This ChuChi had primarily stayed in bed, no rough play, etc. I contacted Banana Design via email and told them about it. The next day, they contacted me back and said that they would ship me a new one. Within days, I had a brand new ChuChi. I replaced the old one without telling my son and had a chance to 'dissect' the old one to see if I could find out what happened. I really couldn't tell. The wires inside where connected. Anyways - at the end of the day they did replace it with no issues at all and the new ChuChi has been fine so far (about 4 months now). Bottom line though is something that you need to take care of as far as no rough play - you wouldn't want to step on it, etc.All in all, I do recommend this for a child that needs or wants a cuddly night light for bed.

Great for those scary dark rooms and trepidatious sleepers. *Update: 6 months later
My son, who is just a week shy of 6 years old, has been having a hard time falling asleep without someone in his room. This has lasted about 6 months and it was time to fix it.I saw Chuchi on the Today Show one morning and just knew that this was the answer. No amount of plug in or rechargeable night lights worked in the past. He isn't too big into stuffed animals and has no real "lovey" or specific item he turns to for soothing himself to sleep. When Chuchi arrived, we both read the package (as he was a gift from our Xmas Elf) and my kid seemed to 'get' the reason he needed it. He carried it around that entire first day.Chuchi is small, maybe 8 inches tall. He is so super soft and plush. The only hard part is the battery pack inside his belly. Even this isn't a big deal. His head, arms and torso are soft and squishy. There is a poof of wispy hair on his head as well. The best part is the fact that there is no face, no music and no flashing lights.I predict that this toy will be with us for a while, comforting him in ways that a night light plugged into the wall just can't.**Sadly, after 6 months of loving this toy, there apparently is a short in the wiring between the head and the battery. The light will flicker but not stay on unless the toy remains undisturbed. I contacted the company twice with no reply. I am afraid that this brings the worthiness of this toy down a notch for me. To spend $32 and have a broken toy is not worth my child's sadness over why his Chuchi can't be fixed. Of course he wants a replacement but I can't see spending $30+ each time this toy breaks.**Second Update, nearly 5 months after the original Chuchi broke, I received an email from the company who replaced my Chuchi for free. I am elated as is my son. I'll certainly forgive the long silence because I believe the correct thing has been done.

Great night time lovey
I just bought this for my 13 month old daughter and she seems to really like it. When I gave it to her she hugged it and then, as with everything else, she threw it on the floor and looked for something else. I put it in the crib with her last night since she's been having some sleeping issues and I think it has to do with the dark. She slept great, but i'm not sure if that had to do with the doll. I know this will really help when she gets older, so i'm giving it 5 stars for that. I love how soft the head is, but the body is hard due to the battery pack, which I expected.

NOT WASHABLE
I purchased this for my then 22 month old son when we were transitioning him to a toddler bed. My son loves ChuChi. My only complaint is that the timer cannot be adjusted (to my knowledge) and shuts off after only a couple of minutes. My son has had ChuChi for a couple weeks now and knows how to turn him on and off but, it's sometimes hard for him to find ChuChi in the bed. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and glad I didn't purchase the Mobi Tykelite and went with the soft cuddly ChuChi. BTW - I'm not sure why this product says 3+. The batteries are in a plastic box inside ChuChi that can only be opened with a screw driver. Maybe it's the hair on ChuChi but, I would feel comfortable putting this toy in a crib with a child of any age.Update: We loved ChuChi for about a month. Then my son got sick in the middle of the night and ChuChi got covered in vomit. The way it is made it is only surface washable - you cannot take out the lights and battery pack to wash. Now my son loves his ChuChi and is asking for him at night but ChuChi still smells of vomit even after using BacOut. I just cannot justify spending another $30 for something that cannot be washed.

Helps keep the nasties away.
I gave this to my great nephew who doesn't like the dark. He loves this cute little creature and I did too.

Three Stars
I thought it could've been a higher quality for the price. More fluffy. I wouldn't buy this again.
