Yes. I have this installed on my Dell Latitude e7240. I cloned the Win 7 original drive onto this drive 8 months ago and last month did the Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade successfully.

No, but if you you already have an M-Sata ssd, those screws will be there holding the existing ssd in place. I replaced a 120gb with a 240 Kingston, it has performed flawlessly.

Can this be used in an asus gl551jw notebook?

The Asus gl551jw doesn't seem to have a M.2 slot. The specs indicate it requires a 2.5" SATA SSD.

Is it compatible with dell xps 8500?

I don't have first-hand experience with that model PC, but it apparently does have an mSATA slot so it should be compatible.
