Our 7-month old cat was getting to where he wanted to climb curtains and scratch on everything. We were prepared to have him declawed, even though we really did not want to. On a hunch my son said we should try these. Here's what we've found: 1. You need to also get a clippers and clip the tip of the nail off. Our cat was definitely not thrilled about this, but we got through it. Plan on having help. 2. The nail covers are easy to apply. We got the size small and our cat weighs about 8 lb at this time. The covers fit just fine over his nails. Again, it will probably be a 2 person job, but it went quickly. 3. We filled the hollow nail caps about 1/3 full. They slipped on easily and the glue hardens fast. 4. The cat did try to pull them off, but was unsuccessful. We also distracted him during his first evening wearing them. 5. None have fallen off yet, and we're on the third day. He now pays no attention to them at all. He can retract and extend his nails just like before, but they don't damage things now. Also, we only did the front feet. I don't think the back feet need to be done. Here's the important thing:. The undesirable behaviors stopped immediately. I don't know if the cat can sense that it doesn't have the ability to grasp things with its front claws anymore, but for whatever the reason, he has not attempted to scratch furniture or pull the curtains down since we put these on. We know we will have to repeat this as his nails regrow and the caps fall off. Nonetheless, it's a small financial and time sacrifice, and we won't have to declaw him now. Also, the bright colors of the caps make it easy to check if he still has them over all his claws. We were skeptical, but so far these are working great. EDIT - We are finding we need to do about 2-3 caps per week, on average. Some of this is probably due to nail growth and some to them coming off. Our cat is much less interested in trying to take them off as time goes by, so the Cat Acceptance Factor is improving. All in all, we figure we spend about 3-5 minutes per week maintaining these claws on him. We will gladly do this vs. having him de-clawed.

These little nail tips absolutely solved our cats scratching problem. The glue they provide keeps the tips on the cats nails far better than you would ever expect. They are a bit of a challenge to install but that depends on how well your cat will cooperate, not the product. Once installed on our cats nails, he immediately went to work trying to remove them with his teeth but theres no way he can get them off due to the adhesion. After a couple hours he completely forgot they were on and now it's just normal to be wearing them. Eventually they do fall off, it seems like about once a week one nail tip has come off. I believe they fall off from natural causes, maybe the nail grows to long underneath, maybe the glue dries out, I'm not sure but replacing one nail tip a week is really easy and a much better solution than declawing a cat. Once they are on, the cat cannot scratch or hurt anything with his nails and our cat was completely used to them in about 2 hours and now doesn't even touch them or know they are there. Great solution!

I bought these because I got a puppy and she is very playful & energetic & she has an issue of getting too excited & jumping on people. These nail caps where super cute. They were a little bit annoying to put on my pup, but that's because she is weird about her paws being touched. But if you have an animal that is laid back & allows you to mess with their paw/nails without a struggle, then application will be a piece of cake. The adhesive was pretty strong. Basically just like typical false nail glue that usually comes with a pack of fake nails from the drug store. A couple caps fell off over a couse of the next 3 days. But the remaining 6 (I only applied to the 8 nail on her 2 front paws) still remain on her nails today, like 2 weeks later. I took away 1 star because even after applying these nail caps, her nails still felt a bit sharp when she jumps on you. But it is ALOT better than before. All around, these are an awesome product and I will be buying again. ***UPDATE*** 08/29/2021 I used the glue that was sent with the nail cops, & my dog managed to take a couple of them off the first day, but after I re-glued them back on, they lasted for a very long time. After about a month, some had fallen off, but the rest stated until her claws grew out. 1 thing I noticed that I wasn't very pleased with, is that her claws still felt share on my les when she would jump on me. A lot less than her bare nails. But if you are looking to get these to stop your pet from scratching when they jump, just keep that in mind. But I still reccomend this product. They look ADORABLE when freshly put on.

These are ridiculously hard to put on a cat... Especially one that you're putting them on to keep from clawing everyone. Pretty sure the glue is burning her skin, which is just your typical nail glue btw. I think I read a review here or somewhere else of someone linking to a better glue to use with these. Think I'm going to look into that. I only got 4 on, & some probably weren't fully on. However, two still remain a week or two later. I'm sure if I managed to keep her still long enough (without hurting her) & got them all on, they'd stay. Just don't trust that glue, nor do I think it should be used on animals. That stuff is already toxic on humans! I mean have you seen what it can do to your nails? Buhhh! Great product otherwise. The rubber is nice. The covers were neatly packaged in individual baggies by color (pink had its own bag, blue had its own bag, & so on). It also came with 5 little "bottles" of the horrid glue, which seem like they can be used per full set application (I mean I applied it to 6 nails that never made it on my cat & still had a good bit left from my first, & only used, bottle). I will say this though, if you're adement about using the glue: I don't think it needs nearly the amount mentioned in the instructions. That seemed like way too much, & resulted in the nails taking longer to dry, then just stuck to me instead of her! Not to mention the more you use, the more squishes out onto your poor baby's cuticles! Just use a good bit on the inside edges, let sit for like 10 seconds, then apply. Your kitty will more than likely attempt to run and/or claw your face off.... & probably cry in pain. For getting it off your skin (because that will happen, unless your cat is like sedated or something) use acetone, or nail polish remover. Or, if you're lazy like me, just pick at it until it falls off. But I honestly recommend asking your vet to apply them for you, with different glue/adhesive, as they're the best with this kind of thing... Namely, keeping your kitty calm & knowing how to prevent hurting them. Seller: please replace this glue... Our kitties deserve better.

First off, I followed the instructions, short as they were. I would've trimmed her claws first, but it would've been a nightmare in and of itself. The adhesive itself is very sticky so be ready to put the cap on within 5 seconds of getting the glue inside. I started by giving her a treat while I opened up everything and prepared it. If you have a cat you know will fight this, make an assembly line. It saved me. I had to hold her between my legs while I applied them. She's a fighter, always has been. She was a rescue who was abandoned so she had a rough start to life. It took about 10-12 min to apply and was pretty easy. After I applied to each claw, I held them on 5-7 seconds to help the adhesive dry before she went after them. After 1 complete paw, I poured a bunch of treats in front of her so she knew what was waiting when I was done. After I finished, she went immediately for the treats, ate them, then tried to bite off the caps. A few min after she started biting, I gave her a can of food which I only save for super special times because she's an indoor cat and I'm watching her weight. In total, she licked and bit at them about 20 min, but has had no luck getting them off. I played with her for a few min to see if they worked and she couldn't scratch me at all. Side note: the only damage she ever did was with her front paws so I left her back paws alone. I will update if anything changes, but I'm thoroughly happy with how this seems to be going.

I will be the first to admit I was VERY skeptical about tips for claws on cats. I’ve always heard of them but I thought there was no way they would stay on, be comfortable, and work. I was WRONG!!!!! Not only are they super practical but SOOOO cute!!! Our cat doesn’t claw furniture, but her nails grow SO fast even though we keep them trimmed every two weeks. So when she is playing it hurts sometimes. I came across these and really just bought them on a whim, literally thinking they would last five minutes. Wrong again!! All ten stayed on about 3 weeks, we had to clip the tips of them because they were getting so long. After five weeks she still has two on. I’m waiting for the other two to fall off so I can put another set on. So they are VERY durable!!!! And they are actually very easy to put on, you’ll need someone to hold the cat while the other puts the caps on. I have told everyone about these, they are WONDERFUL and did I mention, SOOOOO ADORABLE!!!! I mean, look at the pics!! lol, isn’t she the cutest?! Now she really looks like the princess she is, lol. Also, right after I put them on and we let her down, she tried pulling them off with her teeth for maybe 20 seconds, none came off and then she was totally fine with them. We thought she was going to be the drama queen she is and refuse to walk or something. But nope, it’s if she thinks there isn’t anything there.

My 5 yo kitty starting scratching on my new wooden table and chairs so tried these to stop damage not knowing if they would bother him for the first time ever using them. Well applying them is easy enough as long as the kitty doesn't fight ya and the only reaction I got from my cat was the first one on. He was like what is this and flinched as it slid on after that no problem and he acts like they are not even there. Highly recommend if kitty is a scratcher and my wooden furniture is happy. Seems durable and they function as they should, different colors are cool but to me not important don't fufu the animals anyway.
