Natural Instincts Demi-Permanent Hair Dye, 7A Dark Cool Blonde

Not blonde enough

My natural hair colour is a mid to dark brown. Previously I had demi permanent colour at the hairdressers. Couldn't afford foils etc so it was just one colour all over. As I went more grey, it looked more orange in some light. So I decided to stop colouring my hair 3 years ago. It was very grey underneath, and as I like to wear my hair up, this was the main colour that was seen. A smattering of silver/ grey throughout, but predominantly grey at the front, and I was getting fed up with looking grey. I can't afford grey blending, but thought if I used a ash blond semi permanent, that would just colour the grey, and give me the look of expensive (!) highlights, without the cost. I had read if you choose an ash tone it looks less orange. Once applied all over, I left it for 20 mins. I am happy with the results, but it's not what I was aiming for, which was blond highlights. When this washes out, I'm going to try the same again but with a lighter ash blond semi - permanent, if I can find one.

Love this dye. Heads up though as I know the "blonde" descriptor in 7A Dark Cool Blonde has the potential to lead to some heartache for those who don't know that a level 7 dye, and especially a 7 ash, is going to come out VERY dark. Hair is generally blonde (yellow) in the level 8/9/10 range. 7 is a dark, dark blonde/light brown and then ash tones make it appear even darker than a more golden/neutral dye would, so this will make your hair an ashy greyish brown for the first several washes. Don't panic! Go lighter if you want a true blonde (and your hair has been lightened to a level 8-10 first)

Coloring your hair at home is always a gamble. I had my doubts that this color wouldn't work out but I'm so glad I tried it because my hair looks just like the picture on the box

I love this product because it's quick and easy to use and leaves my hair shiny. I'm grey in front and the rest of my hair is mousy brown. The color is subtle and lasts several weeks, and the conditioner included in the box adds even more shine. On top of the dye I add some highlights in front so that the overall effect is that I feel that I look younger.

Perfect to cover gray and not damage your hair. I have long hair and it adds life and body back to your hair . No peroxide to damage your hair.
