I've tried the backseat ones and they didn't last. I've had this one for several months now and it's the best one I've ever had! Fits a huge van cargo area, with a little extra to spare that I tuck in at the end. Doesn't protect the sides, but I knew that going into it. Adjustable at the headrests where it straps around. I have 3 large dogs that also do the whole digging, scratching thing and it hasn't succumbed to their efforts yet.
