Defective tamales and dented cans
I’ve ordered these tamales several times and will not order again. I live in Canada so I have to pay an absorbent price for a case. Each time I receive them the cans are dented and the tamales are mushy as well as being all curled up and deformed looking. A lot of the tamales are only small pieces wrapped in the paper. I ordered another case thinking they surely wouldn’t be like the first case, but sadly they were. You can’t return food items so unfortunately I was stuck with the defective/deformed tamales. Will not bother spending over $100 again on this product.

Shockingly Good… Like “Why Am I Eating a 1950s Bomb Shelter Meal?” Good
I bought this 12‑pack fully expecting regret, heartburn, and maybe a mild spiritual crisis. Instead, these little Hormel beef tamales turned out to be the most dependable comfort food in my pantry. They come wrapped in paper like tiny edible Christmas presents, and once you steam them, they slide out looking exactly like something your grandpa would’ve eaten during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Flavor? Surprisingly solid. Not gourmet, not fancy — just that classic “I’m hungry and don’t want to think” taste. The sauce is basically nostalgia in a can. I’ve eaten them straight, over rice, on tortillas, and once at 2 AM standing over the sink like a raccoon. Zero complaints. If you want a meal that requires no effort, no brain cells, and no shame, this is it. Stock up. Your future hungry self will thank you.

Not sure if I got a bad batch
I bought the case of these because you can’t get them in Canada but are a family favourite- but I think I got a bad batch- took them out and put in microwave- when I unwrapped them they fell to pieces- looked like dog food😳 but thought I would still try them the taste was gritty and unpalatable!!! Tried another can and the same thing- afraid to try any more- what a disappointment!

Great taste
We buy only the beef. Makes a quick meal. I usually eat one can, and add salsa.
