Great, but sheath plays poorly with lash tabs
I bought this knife to attach to my whitewater kayaking PFD. It has some great features for that use: finger hole, blunt tip, compact size, bright color, curved and serrated blade. It feels great in hand, and extra secure with the finger hole. The blade is stamped with "440", so hopefully this is truly a 440 steel and will stand up to corrosion over time. The sheath action is really good: the small detent on the handle engages positively and securely with the sheath, but it's still easy enough to pull the knife out one-handed. The included lanyard is compact enough to stay out of the way (6" or so), but stretches past arm's length - perfect for attaching the knife to a chest or shoulder mounted sheath. It seems strong enough to hold the knife if dropped, but weak enough to be easily snapped if necessary (super important to me - no one wants to drown because their knife lanyard caused an entanglement on the river). The knife seems well made and the plastics are glass reinforced (++durability). That said, there is some room for improvement:- the metal attachments on the lanyard look like cheap metal and will probably corrode- a fully serrated blade will be difficult to sharpen - I would prefer half serrated, half straight edged- most annoyingly, the attachment points on the sheath seem like an design afterthought compared to something like those on the NRS Pilot knife. There's a single bar that you can pass webbing behind, which is held on by some hex-head screws. It's a pain to reattach this bar after threading it through a lash tab, and then the sheath is free to move around on the lash tab because the bar is so thin. Some extra cord might solve the problem, but now it's a project. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied, especially at $30. I just wish the sheath was a thought out a little better.

Doesn’t cut rope so well
I purchased this to go on a canyoneering trip and before I left I tried it to make sure it was worthy of taking with me and I was definitely not impressed it’s very difficult to cut rope with it and it does not work well with the separations because they don’t slide across the rope effortlessly they snag and create a very tough slice it took me four times in order to get through the rope I used a 11 mm climbing rope dynamic. And then did the same test on the same rope with the petzl Sparta End it cut through in one solid motion are utilized the straight edge Knife not the serrated one. The price I don’t think it’s a good knife and it does not work in the fashion which it should for that reason I returned it it’s definitely compact and has a nice sheath

Cheap, not reliable
Cheap plastic. Metal sticking out where not suppose to. Screws doesn’t tight the razor.

Excellent canyoning knife
Edelrid improved the serrations on the blade and the upgrade is excellent for cutting rope. The original was like a cheap steak knife and I had to regains the blade to cut webbing or rope in 1 cut.The latest stock blade work perfectly un-altered

Gute Idee aber mit schwachem Material
Ansich gutes Messer, aber das Gewinde der Schrauben ist zu billig und komplett unbrauchbar...Von edelrid erwartet man da eigentlich was besseres
