I too have never heard of these, & like one reviewer I love writing instruments. Is the long point sharpener a must?

No. But I bought one anyway. Being an Artist I have more erasers, manual and electric than any one person needs. But whatever, I had to TRY it. 😂 It's not a must. I use what is at hand. They sharpen nicely with just about anything. I have at least ten different Blackening pencils. The leads a very sturdy whether you use a traditional point sharpener or a long point sharpener. They are made to reduce constant sharpening for those of us who love a sharp point. The erasers are extendable, fabulous and replaceable! $2.99 for a ten pack in lots of colors at the website. Best pencils everrrrr.

Do these smear on paper/hands (Left handed person asking)

I have not used them much yet, but I believe because of their creamy softness, they would smear rather easily. As a lefty, do you ever put a clean sheet of scrap paper under your hand when drawing to keep the paper clean?

In school #2 pencils have to be used for test. Are these #2? My son really wants them.

They're certainly darker than #2, which means they're fine for tests. The #2 requirement is to ensure students don't use lighter pencils which the test-reading machines may fail to "see," but Blackwings are quite dark. They are also erasable, in case he has second thoughts about an answer (the reason #2 pencils are preferred over pens is that pens are not erasable).

How does the Blackwing compare to the Mirado Black warrior and the Black Ticonderoga?

The Blackwing writes faster and smoother than either of those options. Honestly, I have had bad luck with the Mirado Black Warrior lead being "scratchy" on the paper, and I strongly dislike the Mirado's eraser. I've only ever had one "bad" Black Ticonderoga but it's the one I'm using now. But the Blackwing is still far smoother than the Ticonderoga. It also has a darker line, but it stays sharp just as long. The quality of the finish is also better if that matters to you, with a matte black very sharp paint.

長持ち書き味最高耳に挟める！

これは普通にスケッチ、らふ、メモ全部気持ちいいのもあるけど現場で耳に挟んで落ちにくい！落ちても折れない、今までトンボと三菱UNIだったけど落ちて折れるので短くなるの早いこれも4Bなんで早いはずなのにやっぱりこっちがもつ多分消費では同じぐらいかもだけど（単価割）ずっと使ってる分なんか愛着湧く書くことが好きになり常に持ち歩くからまたすぐ描ける常に持ち歩くからケツの消しゴムが使ってなくても角が取れて色が変わって来ますが消え方は一緒でしたまぁ簡易的なものだしね、延長の補助軸に何故消しゴム刺しが付いてないのかは謎だけど公式サイトがほぼ売り切れなので買えるのはありがたい、ただ今使い切れるか… 見た目もオシャレで追加で欲しいケースもかっこよくて高級感あるし

Great quality

Best pencils ever! I teach music and my students are obsessed with these. It's so funny. They beg me to let them use them to write in their music. The lead is soft and dark, and the eraser is nice and wide (and replaceable, apparently.) They are a bit pricey, but a nice splurge if you are a musician or teacher.

J'ai tellement lu de critiques dithyrambiques sur ces crayons qu'il a fallut les essayer. Les prix étaient exorbitants et totalement déraisonnables, jusqu'à ce que je tombe sur ce set de 12 sur Amazon. 12 crayons pour un essai, ça fait un peu beaucoup... Alors certes, ils ne sont pas aussi "2 fois plus rapides" ou "2 fois plus noirs" ou "2 fois plus je-ne-sais-quoi" comme annoncé. Et on ne dessine pas 2 fois mieux avec non plus. Mais ils sont franchement agréables à utiliser, et c'est une expérience à tenter. De toute manière de bons crayons c'est toujours plus cher, et ceux-ci ne sont pas tellement plus chers que d'autres. Voir les vidéos de démonstration sur Youtube qui achèveront ou non de vous convaincre. A savoir que la gomme se libère pour la sortir un peu plus quand elle commence à s'user. (Il y a un peu plus de 2cm de gomme au total). Et la marque proposes d'autres modèles. Le fin du fin, taillez vos crayons avec le taille crayon Palomino, qui fait une pointe bien effilée ! Du bon crayon pour se faire plaisir.

I’m an artist that works in graphite. These are the absolutely the highest quality pencil I have ever used. They are soft and extremely easy to work with. When sharpened with the BlackWing sharpener, the point is long with a very sharp point. I have no need to ever try another graphite pencil!
