Fun book
The patterns in this book are adorable. Some instructions for putting the faces together are hard to understand so winged it and the hats still came out great! Some utube videos would have been great.

I made the lion, panda and elephant. They are adorable. Her finishing techniques are a little silly (styrofoam balls and glueing on eyes and nose). I just used polyester fill and made patches inside the hat to cover the posts of the child safe eyes and nose. The instructions are easy to follow. Can't wait to see my grandchildren in the hats.

Some instructions unnecessarily difficult
While I don't claim to be anywhere near professional enough to write a book, I'm pretty experienced, particularly with knitting in the round with double pointed needles. In the instructions, she has you knit in the round on only 2 needles, which I find cumbersome and difficult. And it doesn't seem necessary. Plus she is very specific about how many stitches to place on each needle. Again, not necessary. The attached picture is a "long snout" for a dog hat, other than using 3 needles rather than 2, and just distributing the stitches approximately equally, I followed the same row by row instructions, and it came out looking just like the picture in the book. But, still 4 stars because of the great designs and ideas. Ditto on the other comments about not using styrofoam or plastic eyes.

Animal Hats
Great little book and it arrived right on schedule

Best animal hats ever
I have about four pattern books for knitted animal hats and this book has the cutest hats with matching booties and 'handsies' ever. Sizes for babies and older kids -- who I am sure would 'borrow' them unless they got their own set! In addition, the models show a really great range of diversity. Most knitting books have only white models. Can't wait to make one of each set!!!

Adorable hats
Although he hats are adorable I modified them and used stuffing instead of Styrofoam and embroidered eyes and noses. Styrofoam and glue on eyes and noses didn't seem safe for infants and young children.

Errata
I love knitting all the hats from this book.Attached is a picture of the Monkey HatConstructing all the knitted pieces was not easy.If anyone else makes these patterns, I would love to hear from you regarding the construction - especially the face construction. On page 49, I believe there is a mistake in the directions for the Beaver Booties. For the Size Medium only, it reads:*K2, k2tog, k2, ssk, k2.I believe it should read:*K2, k2tog, k4, ssk, k2.

Lovely book
Really easy to follow patterns, everything is described simply with clear pictures where necessary. I've knitted the lamb and the monkey so far and had no problems, Kim thoroughly enjoying knitting these patterns.

Recipient of this gift loved it, though she realised she didn't have anyone to the hats for any more, as her grandchild is all of 7 and too grown-up for these hats!

Bought this for my best friend for a birthday present but now I want it too! The items are so adorable. I really want to make some of these for my baby girl so hopefully it will be waiting under the tree for me for Christmas!
